But I don't get the animosity against Rachel Roy, if Jay-Z did have an affair with her. Indicative of a broken moral compass for sure, and there's no excuse with getting involved with a married man. But Jay-Z is the one who made and broke vows of fidelity. The Bee-hive should rage against him, FAR, FAR more than Rachel Roy.

Also, if "Becky" is a white girl, how can "Becky with the good hair" allude to Roy? Roy's Indian, not white.

Roy is part Indian, part white I think.

Who said Becky was white or that good hair alluded to a white woman's hair?

Well now it's clear why this thread sucks, it's full of white women speaking on things they have no clue about. "Hip hop trash". Old white women at that.

Carry on.

Hey, take it easy. NP here, white woman, who (I think) understands this album on a deeper level. No, I will never understand what it's like to be a black woman in america, but I have a deep sense of empathy and an ability to put myself in your shoes. Doesn't mean it touches your experience, but I got chills from that album. I'm obsessed.

She was a co-writer on this masterpiece.... I'm not sure the world will ever see such genius again.

Welp. Its official. I'm nobody. I have had 3/4 different free TIdal subscriptions and the last expired an hour before the Lemonade premiere. I had to pay to subscribe because the music quality and virtually all the music I want to stream is there - not Apple Music not Pandora not Spotify. Felt like a little Anita Baker last month and Spotify had just three of her songs. I don't even claim to have some great ear but the sound quality on Tidal coupled with all the available music won me over.

Agree! She looks like a goddess. He looks horrible to me ... like a big bear or something.

I had no idea there was so much marital strife between Bey and Jay. Why doesn't she divorce him?

Her own father said they create buzz and drama on purpose to sell. Read the thread before you get your feathers so ruffled. JayZ is profiting like cray cray from this and so is Beyoncé. Yes, she is already popular, but stars lose their crowns when they don't stay relevant and interesting. She is a master at doing this.

I bet you think all reality TV is real too and only people with tinfoil hats would think otherwise?

She can't write anything. Waste of time.

If she changes one word she can take credit for co-writing. Name one song that she wrote on her own.

Gosh you're an idiot. If she changed one word and claimed the rest as hers, she would spend most of her time and money in court. Since there are so many songs on the labels listed as her lyrics, I will change most to all her time would be spent fighting claims of theft and copyright violations.

That may very well be true, but then, we know her father to be a liar and adulterer. He doesn't have much credibility.

Because skin color dictates who can interpret music. Got it.

Np.

Even if true, who cares?

The poetry, visual album and songs are deeply resonating with people. It's art. Art can still be made with an agenda in mind, and it doesn't make it less emotive for people.

Wrong. Some writers don't fight it because they are happy having a writing credit on her album and they can get more work out of it. Some writers claim their credit, like Ne-yo did with Irreplaceable, after Beyoncé was saying she wrote it. Des'ree sued her over her song and Beyoncé had to stop selling some versions of B-day. She's not the first major artist to add their name to songs for writing credit and she won't be the last. It's part of the shady music industry. Ad-lib at the end, I wrote the song
