Nope, no prepping.

Still nothing here. I thought we would get it in the Friday folder.

Are we on the pool??

Likely because cutoff has been 132... but if scores are uniformly high they could decide to increase the cutoff to have limit the in-pool candidate percentage to their "target" (20%?)

The Gifted Behavior Rating Scale filled out by a committee in second grade WITH COMMENTARY (comments, specific to your child).

Here it is, blank: http://www.fcps.edu/is/aap/packet/Fillable_AAPGBRSwithCommentary.pdf

A GBRS is filled out annually, however it has the comments for kids being considered for AAP (either in or out of the pool.) The second grade GBRS report is filled out with a committee (typically the second grade teacher, an administrator and the AART).

Is this completed for all students whether or not they are eligible to get into AAP? Can parents request what the rating is? My DS is in 3rd grade and non-AAP and i am curious if we are able to see what his score was for this.

in on first round with 105 NNAT 135 Cogat 8 GBRS

If true, this is reassuring. DD got an unexpectedly low 106. (Yes, I know we all think our kids are smart, but this really was a surprise.) She commented after the test that the teacher did not really explain what they were supposed to do. We were leaning toward remaining in our base school anyway, but now it looks like we may not even have an option!

You should ask your AART.

my DD was complaining that there was a lot of problems with the computer at the time they were taking the test. She said it was confusing her, she ended up getting a 113. Is there anything I can do about this at this time?
I''m surprised by her score.

Talk to your AART, but my guess is no. Maybe you could a get a large number of other kids who also had computer issues to also complain to push for a retake? Next year's Cogat is on paper, so if she scores high (especially on the non verbal section which is similar to NNAT) then I'd think the committee would consider the low NNAT as she just had a bad day.

EVERY teacher in the country reads the exact same instructions. Your child was given the same information as other children. In addition, the teacher goes over samples beforehand.

It was confusing, I'm guessing, because it is an confusing test unless you have that type of analytical mind. What is your child saying was the problem with the computer?

113 is above the 80th percentile and you are not happy with that? Jesus.

NP here. My son is in the 85th percentile with a score of 118. Paper is downstairs but pretty sure that was his score. He was listed as high average.

I always thought you needed to be in the 90th percentile so wouldn't it be the top 10%?

We are new to FCPS and my child is currently in 1st grade.

Also, do 2nd graders take the test in March to be considered for AAP in 3rd grade?
