Do you hold your teen's hands?

With 16 year old DD, only in private these days, sadly. I often take her hand at red lights when we're in the car, because it's one of the only times she doesn't pull it away. Hope she'll grow out of it, but I get the parents-are-so-embarrassing-in-every-way phase of being a teenager, so I try not to make it an issue.

I don't think my daughter touched me or my husband the entire year of age 13. What a shit fucking year that was. I would get the occasional mumble of I love you before bed. Woohoo!

But at 14.5 she is now back to hugging me, even in public sometimes and at night when she is burned out from homework, she will crash right next to me on the couch and put her head on my shoulder and we either talk or watch stupid TV and laugh. It makes my day!

Our country as a whole has such issues with compassion and the need to be held/loved. In Europe they plant big ass kisses on each other, tons of hugs, support, love. It is sorely missing here.

Awww, I personally love the teenage boys that are confident enough to not give a shit what others think. He loves his Mama.
