The Concealed Carry Fantasy

Bullshit! If you spent your entire career putting dangerous murders, rapists, gang members in prison, (while risking your own life) you are very likely to run into one in person someday; they all get out of prison eventually.

What would you do if a guy you put away and a few of his friends recognizes you, and they decide they are going to cut you or rough you up as payback for the 20'years hard time? What if they decide to rape your wife & make you watch?

Luckily, our lawmakers are not so heartless or un-thinking as you PP

If someone is that paranoid, why come in public? Just stay home with your guns!!

OMG you watch too much television.

Totally! Rambo fantasies run amok. The sad truth of the matter is that the majority of civilians carrying guns on themselves every day are not even ex-cops or ex-military, they are untrained assholes who quite likely also have mental and/or antisocial issues.

I bet no one here knows the name of the Federal Agent who's gun stolen from his unlocked car and used to kill Kate Steinle. In fact, I bet very few people here know that gun was a Fed's.

Because there is complete silence on this issue. Ask yourself why.

That is a weak argument. The chances of running into someone you put away 20 years ago and them recognizing you is small to none. Especially since if they were put away for that long chances are it was in a different area or even state. And this does nothing to explain why an ex-military person would need to carry. Do they think they are going to run into a Taliban in rural Minnesota?

Sorry but unless you can provide data that I know for a fact does not exist, the chances of running into someone you put away that long ago is basically nonexistent. Especially to say it is "Very likely"....you're just paranoid lol

If this had been a tea party member's gun? All over the news. A fed's? Time to keep it quiet!

It's not part of a made-for-TV movie, is it?

Here's another:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3186529/Sister-ex-convict-charged-shooting-dead-Memphis-police-officer-says-brother-just-trying-defend-officer-manhandling-him.html

Now would you like some detailing of ex-cons committing crimes, whether it be against law enforcement or the general public?

Are you stupid or desperate or both?
That's not an example of an ex-con attacking a retired officer nor is it an example of a retired officer defending himself thanks to carrying a concealed weapon. If you're going to engage in the discussion at least try and put some effort into following the discussion otherwise start your own thread about whatever irrelevant nonsense you're so inclined to babble about.

Geez us you idiots just love to argue for the sake of arguing.
We're talking about carrying concealed weapons and the discussion has progressed to the (un)likelihood that retired cops need to stay armed because some criminal they arrested XX years ago will recognize them and seek revenge.
If you can't come up with examples that typify those circumstances then shut the hell up - it's a given you're stupid no need to provide proof of the fact by bringing up totally unrelated incidents.

Life is not an action movie, no matter how bored you are. Get a hobby and stop with your fantasies.
