If you are retired you have no need to carry a gun around anymore, at least not any more than every other Joe Schmoe...whether you're a ex-sniper or an ex-cop.
Bullshit! If you spent your entire career putting dangerous murders, rapists, gang members in prison, (while risking your own life) you are very likely to run into one in person someday; they all get out of prison eventually. What would you do if a guy you put away and a few of his friends recognizes you, and they decide they are going to cut you or rough you up as payback for the 20'years hard time? What if they decide to rape your wife & make you watch? Luckily, our lawmakers are not so heartless or un-thinking as you PP
That is a weak argument. The chances of running into someone you put away 20 years ago and them recognizing you is small to none. Especially since if they were put away for that long chances are it was in a different area or even state. And this does nothing to explain why an ex-military person would need to carry. Do they think they are going to run into a Taliban in rural Minnesota? Sorry but unless you can provide data that I know for a fact does not exist, the chances of running into someone you put away that long ago is basically nonexistent. Especially to say it is "Very likely"....you're just paranoid lol
