Many white parents do defend their children. And there are plenty who are not caught red handed. Yet one can argue there's a difference in attitudes among various racial and ethnic communities re: how far that defending and pleading goes and coming to terms with the rational outcomes of the criminal justice system. It's my post from 12:18 PM yesterday in which I responded to incredulous Kansans who were questioning the need to the recognize and celebrate the century-old event formerly known as African-American Family Day in a city whose population is roughly 50 percent AA and grew up attending an otherwise positive event.
