Bachelorette Kaitlyn - NO SPOILERS

I just watched yesterday's episode, and whoa, things are getting fired up for Shawn, huh. I think he has done wonderfully to contain his pent up rage so far, so the fact that some of it seems to spill out next week is no surprise. Poor Ben, though, since he looks to be the 'soft place' for Kaitlyn to run to while the two antagonists (Nick, Shawn) are exchanging words, etc. I can't get that much earlier spoiler out of my head about who 'wins,' even though we don't know if that's right. But right now, I think she definitely won't choose Ben.

PP here. Sorry all, I have to post something more. My recording was choppy, so I was able to check some clips on the show's site, including the one where Kaitlyn tells Shawn about the intimacy with Nick. The editors did a great job, but something popped out to me that is very obvious: right before she tells him about the sex, her lips look plain (no lipstick/gloss), but soon thereafter, after they show his immediate reaction, the next frame on her shows her glossy pink lips! Well, unless she immediately grabbed her tube and dolled up in those few seconds, I'm thinking this segment was highly edited.

I think Shawn is loosing it. His ranting at Nick, he's just all breathy and in such a rush to get it out that he's talking all over Nick and not making any sense. It sounded like he was shaking and about to cry.

I think Nick was relatively calm considering what he's being confronted with. I had been a Shawn fan from the first episode, but now I'm hoping she picks Nick. Shawn just seems crazy - and I get that it's a crazy situation, but he should be mad at Kaitlyn since she's the only one who would have owed him any fidelity. Nick owed him nothing, and he's handled the hostility really well throughout the whole season. He seems solid as a rock.

Nah. Shawn is genuinely emotionally invested. For Nick who knows, he's just got the act down to a T.

While I don't like Nick, Shawn totally showed his ass the other night. He was acting manic and paranoid, and Nick was as cool as a cucumber. She might shock us and end up with the Donny Osmond look-alike!

What act? He hides his face from the camera whenever he has something sweet to say - and fails. He tries to whisper and not be heard by the camera when saying he loves her - and fails. They thought turning off the mics would give them some privacy and that failed. Everything he's tried to cover up has been put on display. If that's an act, or an attempt to be some one he's not, well it's a pretty poorly executed one, because we're seeing everything he hoped to keep private.

Conversely, Shawn actually did manage to keep his "off camera" overnight hush hush and actually, really off camera. It was only revealed when he choose to let it be - he's the one who seems to know how to navigate the situation. He just lost his cool and decided not to in the last episode, but Nick couldn't even pull that off if he wanted to - he just doesn't have the skills to get away and not get caught.

I take Nick's 'face hiding' as acting like a middle school kid and constantly mumbling into his hands. It's like he thinks he's adorable, I only hope he makes it to a hometown date so we can see if he's a coddled mama's boy (hmmmm maybe we already know from last season... I can't remember).

I wish Shawn hadn't lost his cool and become so mopey and jealous. At this point, I don't like either of them.

If Shawn ends up as the "winner" -- it's got to be difficult for the whole world to know that your fiance had sex with another man TWICE in the weeks/days leading up to your proposal. I mean, it's not the typical progression of a relationship for your beloved to have sex with other people just before they accept your proposal of marriage.

I think the "engagements" are really more like "hey, let's go steady!" -- so maybe that's how the couple looks back at it. The public nature of the undecidedness (same could be said of Bachelor Chris and Whitney -- and we know how that turned out)... that would be difficult to live down (especially with family members).

As a mom, I wouldn't be too keen on any girl/guy if I knew they were sleeping with other people just before my child proposed to him/her. It makes you wonder how much they really care about their fiance? Apparently fiance wasn't special enough to exceed all others.

Nick has been mumbling into his hands I think this whole season. It makes me bonkers. I turn on closed captioning so I can figure out what he's saying. He is 34 years old, not in middle school.

I think the producers have gotten so into Shawn's head this season that he is just off his rocker. He has been (or appears to be) the most manipulated guy this season. I feel bad for him.

Just think -- if Nick makes it to the end and loses -- he's the only person in the US who would be a two time loser on Bachelorette! I would think he would need therapy for something after twice having sex with a woman and then being publicly rejected! Wow. That would have to play on your self esteem.

If Shawn loses, well, he can sort of chalk it up to Kaitlyn not really being into him for the duration of the show.

I commented a while back similarly about Nick's mannerisms; he's giddy and childlike, and in some ways so is Kaitlyn. By the way, her 'manly' laugh is starting to get to me. Not really attractive to hear. Nick always has this smiley look about him when he's with her, and that alone is sweet, but then like PP wrote, I find it annoying with the constant hush-hushing and whispering into his hand, with chin tilted downward. Like a sensitive puppy face or something he probably thinks is cuddly.

I think Shawn has been coming off as very controlling and temperamental. I wouldn't like the way he's going around unnecessarily picking fights, etc. Nick does come off as cooler and calmer and more genuine. I feel bad for Ben who I think Kaitlyn is just using to have a calm sweet presence while the other two fight it out.

Shawn is a personal trainer. He is not a rocket scientist and so perhaps doesn't have a greater range of ways to express himself. However, I felt he was extremely under control when K told him what she had done. He went and took a moment "alone" and came back and said he would just have to deal with it. The reality of course, has proven harder but he dealt with it with both grace and dignity.

Nick I think is a very high maintenance, hysterical child. He is just showing everyone his good side (well as good as he can show it) right now.

Kaitlyn is a dance instructor and I do wonder if her future HHI is even on her radar - not something I considered heavily when dating, but if she ends up with Shawn, they're going to be spread thin. Those are two low paying, hourly wage type jobs. I'm not saying she should decide based solely on that, but the prospect of neither spouse being able to provide for a family would make me kinda nervous.
