You can't get then in a school district that's all 10's. That's BS.

Most people don't have their kids in all 10s and that's a really foolish requirement to have. You can have GOOD school districts without every single school being the absolute top rated.

The greatschools ratings are kind of dumb anyway, but it bears noting that they are only calculated relative to other schools in the same state, so you can't do a straight comparison of schools across state lines. A Minnesota 10 may not equate to a Maryland or Virginia 10.

+10000

I can not stand to see one more of those front pillars. Those houses are already dated.

OP your title says it all... Minnesota. You could also buy a mansion that comes with nanny, housekeeper, gardener for $20k Iin Phillipines. But why would I want to go to these places just because it's cheap?

Why the heck would anyone need 4 garages?

Your boat, snow mobiles and ride on lawn mower of course!

NP. I'm from Michigan, and this poster is probably right! If you are working class or above, you probably have snowmobiles, a boat or a camper, or some combination of those three. You might also have a cottage "up north" where you use your boat or snowmobiles or skis. And then there's the riding lawn mower, of course. Even most affluent people mow their own lawns. Oh, I forgot to mention jet skis. And some people with a cottage on a lake will have two boats-- something with a motor and a small sailboat.

None of this is fancy, but we do love our outdoor activities. Now I'm making myself homesick. . .

You must not be familiar with winters in Minnesota.

I might have grown up in DC, but luckily I've had the opportunity to travel. You are very ignorant. Minnesota is a beautiful state And is pristine.

You really should get out more. You embarrass yourself.

Exactly, you can pretty much name Any Town, USA, with the exception of a few big places like LA and NYC, where you get A lot more bang for your buck. There are other factors - jobs, small town verse city life, away from family and friends, etc.

It is depressing to come home to the shit shacks in the dc area after seeing these homes. You gotta make at least 300k a year to have the same home in Chantilly.

I'm sad for young people trying to make it in dc who don't know better. I can't imagine buying into this market. I'm so glad that I bought right after college in 2000, right before the market here went banannas. If not, I'd probably be 37 trying to cram kids in one of those shit shacks with a soul crushing mortgage. I think for someone who is 23 right now does not stand a chance of even buying an efficiency.

Of course. The Twin Cities are a hub for the technology, medical, and finance industries. It is a very livable, stable, area. What a silly comment.
