Thanks for the link, PP! Looks like Atticus Khalif, age 9, is having the time of his life. "It's my terrible 10th time". HAHA! |
| Labeling pressure cooker environment of Asian families is the same as saying all white families have a tradition of molesting their children because that's all we have observed about some of them. |
Interesting article. Looks like non Asians have caught on: "E.nopi, a 37-year-old tutoring franchise developed by a South Korean entrepreneur, recently switched its American name to Eye-Level, to call up an image popular among American parents: child-centric instruction. In its recently opened center in Park Slope, Brooklyn, where four one-hour sessions cost $200, about two-thirds of the 100 or so students are black, Hispanic or white, according to the school. “We’re a complete mixed crowd now,” said Franco Verdino, the owner of the Park Slope franchise." |
I'm actually in MoCo. I find these threads interesting. In MoCo, the "W" HS schools are considered pressure cookers, and these schools are majority white. This kind of pressure isn't limited to Asian families, although you probably live in an enclave where a lot of such Asian families live, much like the W enclaves are where a lot of these white families live. |
Irrespective of race, all families are pressure cooker family if they give more importance to education. In general Asian parents give more importance to education than others. |
Is it important to you to think white kids "fear" Asian kids? |
Wow. Project much. I have never witnessed any molestation with any white families. I have, however, witnessed an Asian parent verbally abuse her child because he was not concentrating on the task at hand. That caused him to cry and then the parent proceeded to shame him for crying in public. I also observed a different Asain parent slap her child for not getting an answer correct. |
I disagree. Being a parent with an advanced degree, I stress the importance of a well rounded education. I refuse to subject my children to forced learning. My children happily learn on their own. They are in the same AAP classes that your Asian child attends. They are in the same chess club, math club, etc. They participate in these activities because THEY want to and not because mommy tells them to. |
Well, just search the child sex offenders. They're predominantly white. There must be a reason (most likely family tradition) behind it. |
So our Asian kids are forced to do things just because you're saying they are forced? You white people don't let go any chance of feeling superior, do you? |
Humor us - what's the area is your advanced degree? |
I guess it's Phd in racist. |
And maybe an Ms. in stupidity as well. |
LOL. If not, I hearby grant her a honorary Ph.D in racist. |
I do not have to feel superior to anyone. The learning is forced when you demand the child to study for hours when he/she does not want to. Trust me, go to the public library and all the Asian children are with their Kumon instructors. I witnessed one child with his instructor for at least three hours. Poor child was so frustrated. |
