Is it now "in style/cool" for teen girls to be in romantic relationships with other girls?

I think the main agenda being pushed is freedom to love whomever you want to. You against freedom, pp?

It's not "freedom." It's an attempt to entrap into a lifestyle that will bring pain, misery and confusion well into their adult years, or beyond.

I will tell my friends who are gay that they are full of pain, misery, and confusion. Won't they be surprised!

LOL.

And here I thought that my wife and kids and I were happy, comfy, and full of love. My mistake I guess! Thanks, hate-filled fearmonger!

It's not an "agenda". What you are seeing is younger people embracing diversity and understanding that homosexuality, bisexuality, a-sexuality, ..... are every bit as valid as heterosexuality. Frankly, I'm embarrassed that so many of my peers (I am 50) are so far behind in their thinking. Teen girls have learned that it is safe to explore sexuality. They understand that no one has the right to tell another person who they can and cannot love. And they view romantic love as something bigger than gender.

So if people don't agree with you, they are "behind in their thinking?" Fascinating.

Yes, actually. The thinking about this in general society has changed a lot in the last 20 years. If you're still thinking the way people did 20 years ago, instead of the way people are now, then you are behind in your thinking.

Oh, so all it takes for something to be right or wrong is the opinion of "general society." I cannot tell you how relieved that makes me feel.

No, we are not talking about right or wrong. We are talking about up-to-date or behind.

Just because something is new does not make it right. Or even preferred.

Good news! Nobody said that it did.

That is exactly what this PP said. She is "embarrassed" (inference - wrong) that so many of her peers are so far behind in their thinking.

No, now you're shifting the goalposts.

But stick to your behind-the-times thinking, by all means. If you know you're right, why do you care what other people think?

No. People certainly have the right to their opinion. However, people who believe that black people and white people shouldn't marry are behind in their thinking. People who think that homosexuals shouldn't marry are no different. This is simply another civil rights issue. Those of us capable of rational thought understand that no one has the right to tell another consenting adult whom they are allowed to love.

+1 undeniably true, though you'll get nothing but censure here for stating that fact.

Your post is a contradiction in terms. If you get nothing but censure here for stating that, then there are plenty of people denying it, so it's not undeniably true. At most it's deniably true.

Oh, so these people who disagree with you are not only behind in their thinking, they are also incable of rational thought. Wow. How do you live with yourself, being so much smarter than everyone else?

Actually multiple courts have found that the government has no rational basis for restricting same-sex marriage.

I don't know, my wife and I are filed with pain, misery, and confusion because our two year old has been waking up way too early. Must be because we're lesbians!

Thank you. I was about to respond with the admission that I am not smarter than "everyone else", but definitely smarter than people who believe they know what love should look like for everyone.

For heaven's sake, I'm from Mississippi! I don't know even know anyone in my backwards assed state (under the age of about 50) who isn't ready for marriage equality. Ala-fucking-bama is OK with it.

I am not gay but am a huge supporter of marriage equality. Thankfully it appears people like the PP are in the minority in most places.

I'm very worried about this, actually, not out of any sort of homophobia but because it makes it harder for kids to genuinely come out. It's so popular that it makes them think no one will believe them. My own daughter came out last year and I have no doubts (nor does she) that she is lesbian. When she told us this, she mentioned how many classmates had come out and how it felt like it wasn't a real thing, but she wanted to make sure we really believed her. I don't think it's necessarily true that these girls are lying, as sexuality is very fluid, but I do think it's more reasonable for a 14yo to not know than to slap labels on things so readily.

Sometimes when I'm sick, my wife will take out her scrubs (she's a nurse) and very seriously tell me I have a case of lesbianism.
