YES!! So outrageous that a police officer would happen to notice Anna walking and "staring" at the exact place where some valet fell into traffic and died. It's not like the valet was someone important - in those days, I'm sure they didn't even blink if a working man or woman died in such a way. Ridiculous.

I was slightly won over by Lord Merton's sweet proposal, but am still rooting for Dr. Clark. I think in her heart, Isobel is also wishing she hadn't snubbed Dr. Clark when he expressed his feelings to her awhile back. I think she's realizing they would be a great match. She did seemed sweetly flattered by what Lord Merton told her, and it looks like she's considering his proposal seriously.

On another note, whatever happened to Ivy, the other kitchen maid? I must have forgotten something - did she leave for some reason?

She went to America with Lady Grantham's brother. Remember he visited last season and his valet asked Daisy to go be the cook. But she turned him down and Ivy stepped in.

Lord Gillingham definitely got creepy. He's going to turn all stalker-ish on Mary, which is going to freak her out and send her running the other direction. Meanwhile, Charles Blake waits in the wings ... pretending to NOT be waiting, which will make her want to chase after him.

Agree about Tom - he seems ultra-passive about letting them all invite the dreadful Miss Bunting to dinner, when he himself doesn't even seem particularly attracted to her. Why doesn't he tell them to stop inviting her, already? No one likes her, including him, it seems.

I loved the encounter between Mary and Charles Blake at the fashion show - when the "bride" walked out and Charles gave Mary that funny look, indicating she would be married soon. Those two are so fun together. But what did he mean when they were having dinner and she said she didn't want to break Lord Gillingham's heart, and Charles told her there was a way she wouldn't have to? She seemed perplexed and he never explained. Confusing!

As for Thomas, I really thought it was heroin since he took a spoon from the kitchen, but maybe not? What was the article Baxter found that he was reading in the magazine?? I kept rewinding and pausing but couldn't make it out.

Re: Charles Blake at the dress show - who was the woman he was with? I had heard her name before and assume she was the ex-girlfriend of... someone Mary was intimate with? Was it Matthew or Tony? Confused!

Maybe Lord Gillingham is the one pursuing the continued investigation into the valet's death. He could use that information and his tryst with Mary to blackmail her.

I'm pretty sure Blake was referring to softening the blow by getting Mabel Lane-Fox and Tony back together. Otherwise, why would they introduce Mabel at this late date (in the dress scene)?
