Is Dewey Beach That Bad?

it depends on what you want to do. With a little kid and early morning and evenings at the beach, you will be fine. I would also drive to Rehobeth for the boardwalk and Funland. And then you can drive to whatever else you want to do.

Bethany is incredibly boring. Rehoboth is much better.

When Rehoboth is “better” than somewhere, that tells you a lot. All those beaches are terrible.

Why not just go to Ocean City?

The toddler is now a teenager and may like Dewey beach.

The Hyatt Place pics look great but it’s not. The beach is actually across the road. The breakfast buffet wasn’t good even by hotel standards. We had a suite and it was fine but the sheets were thin and it was very dark and narrow. No big deal on the room because we didn’t spend much time there but the thin sheets bothered me. We wanted to try a different, close by beach but I won’t be going back.

PPs are right, the beach is much quieter in the morning because everyone is sleeping, which I consider a positive! Yes there are a ton of 20 somethings walking around but honestly, it's not that bad. And it's a 2 minute ride to Rehoboth, you can take your kid on the trolley to Rehoboth which he will love. It picks up right by the Hyatt Place. If you are like us you are in bed way too early to really be bothered by everyone. All the PPs sound a bit stuck up to me! Go and enjoy!

Agree with this. Sure there will be some groups of young people but if you're not out late at the bars with them they're not annoying. And the trolley into Rehoboth is great.
