Where will Lee Montessori go?

Anonymous
I hasn't heard of this tree of life who. Does it fit the criteria of knowing it would be moving out of its building?
Anonymous
CMI is going to be Ward 4 so if they share space with them, yes they would no longer be in ward 5.
Anonymous
CMI will be in Ward 5. The Old Soldiers Home is in Ward 5.

Thank you.

Dang, other than questioning its Ward, noone had an opinion about my question about the Soldiers Home.

Sounds like a co-locate at the Soldier's Home might be an interesting idea. Is there enough space? Does CMI have those plans?
Anonymous
CMI parent here, there are no plans share our space with Lee or any other school for that matter. Sorry.
Anonymous
Not a CM parent, but I don't see why CM needs to share there space when they will be expanding to middle school.

Lee parent who thinks the campus would be awesome but I can't imagine it is in CMI, Soldiers Home or other plans. Maybe with the redevelopment and sale of the Soldier complex southern land?

Let's hope it's not at the Tree of Life location. My car mechanic has an auto shop right across the street from Tree of Life. The school is surrounded by a sea of auto mechanic shops, scrap metal yards, and other industrial businesses. It's pretty depressing. I always felt bad for the kids going to tree of life and wondered how they could play outside with all the air quality issues.

I have been following this thread as a prospective SSMA parent, because I figure, where Lee is looking, it's a good chance SSMA is looking too. And yeah, that location is even more awful than SSMA's current location.

In general, looking at charters, I feel like there are too many of them warehoused into former industrial buildings in the NE with no regard for traffic patterns, public transportation, or air quality.

Honestly, sometimes that's making me think we should suck it up and stay at our neighborhood school. Now, granted, dc is miserable there, has almost no friends, is teased and bullied, and the few things that I liked about the school (i.e. the principal's handle on things) are going away... but still.

It's not a bad school, so I'm not going to say. We've just had a bad experience.
