How many dental crowns do you have? How many root canals have you had? How old are you?

And, I still have all four wisdom teeth.

I would have removed them.

I didn't know PP's dentist was on this anonymous board. I'm sure PP appreciates the unsolicited, idiotic advice

a bunch of fillings dating back to childhood (I had fluoridated water and every dentist I've ever seen says I brush well based on my gum health, but I have genetically bad tooth enamel)

The crowns and the need to have a bunch of the fillings replaced are the result of night grinding. I've basically worn away and/or cracked a good number of my teeth.

54. 2 crowns, and I think 2 root canals.

So many factors go into determining your oral health. Genetics play a huge role. Also if you're a grinder (which I am, so I now have a night guard which has saved my teeth).

Fillings - many. I haven't had any cavities since about age 30 or so, now my dental work is just replacing fillings as they wear out.

37, 4 root canals, 5 crowns, two implants, some jaw surgery. Accident/injury plus genetics. Luckily I have great dental and medical insurance.

Teeth look great, though.

1 crown and 1 root canal on the same tooth. This was the result of a sports accident when I was 12. Unfortunately it was my front tooth so I needed to get a veneer in my other front tooth to make them match.

No other dental work since.

58. 1 root canal and 2 crowns (1 of them on root canal tooth). Both in the last 5 years.

30, 3 root canals + 2 crowns

53. 5 crowns (3 replaced really old silver fillings) and two root canals.

41, 4 root canals, no crowns. I refuse. I just tell them to use bonding, and promise not to chew on ice. One of my root canals is 25 years old and I've never had an issue. I have terrible enamel genetically but ever since I vowed to floss and brush religiously twice a day (and I mean I never miss a day even if traveling), I haven't had any problems. I also credit the Sonicare toothbrush with the fact my last root canal or even filling was 10 years ago.
