Hope justice is served fast.

Great work by the police chief. His patience and passion in solving this case is commendable!

I am not in this field, but I would think so, depending upon how much DNA was there to begin with. Forensics teams can do wonders with clothing and bodies that have been around for years. I recently saw a Dateline or 48 hours in which DNA was found on a quilt from a murder many years ago that had been exposed to elements for a while after the murder. It really depends upon the amount and type of DNA, I would think.

I agree. And, I hope that the person they have in custody did it, they can prove it, and that he is sentenced to death.

DNA on objects such as clothing can last a long time (assuming it hasn't been degraded by rain/snow/river water/etc.). Any DNA on a soft tissue is probably gone b/c the soft tissue is probably pretty knarly by now (that would also depend on factors like exposure to weather or animals).

JM is a messed up individual if he did it and killed the other missing women. He allegedly raped at least two women starting from the time he was 20. He is only 32.

I agree too. He is a credit to his position.

At first I don't care for the chief, but now I loaf him!

I'm wondering why Walnut Creek Park wasn't searched earlier, it appears to be less than five miles from Anchorage Farms, where MH's body was found. Red Hill School, where JM attended and presumably grew up around that area, is also in between both locations. I would have thought that, given this history, Walnut Creek might have been searched earlier. Easier said than done, I suppose, and hindsight's always 20/20.

I wonder this too. Supposedly it is very close to where MH's body was found and they established a link to that case weeks ago.

Her body was found in an abandoned home. Maybe the police didn't know the home had been abandoned and thought the owners would alert them to something suspicious.

Source? Thought it was a field.

This link here does say "abandoned property", so I'm guessing there may be an old house that wasn't razed when they built the park just over a decade ago (2002)?
