Why do women show cleavage?

Since I'm already married and I like to make new friends, I usually don't show much cleavage.

Examples?

I thought the cultural norm had shifted away from cleavage to showcasing bottoms in tight jeans. Hence all the mom-jeans and long-butt shaming.

I married a man who appreciates the female backside . Good thing since I am not a large chested woman...but I definitely have another asset!

I'm pretty late in my pregnancy at this point and finding shirts to completely cover the enormous belly is getting harder. I'm hanging really low these days.

So, if you get a flash of my belly, I apologize. I am not going to go out and buy all new clothes for my last couple weeks, though.

So your kid will have a trashy mommy. Good for you.

The human body isn't trashy. Especially a pregnant human body.

I didn't post it, but I wonder as well. Then they seem to get offended if you look at it. WTF?

I am impressed with how comfortable ppl are with their cleavage. My parents preached modesty and I am reluctant to be in a bra in front of my DH. I have big boobs and would trade then in for a flat chest for sure. Rock your cleavage ladies.

Because we can and we know it drives men crazy.

Same here. And a turtle neck just makes them look that much bigger anyways. I'm also not ashamed or uncomfortable of my big boobs, so you all just have to deal with my cleavage.

So, it's just practical and not, "Ha! Look at you then look at ME!"

Correct. I wear what's comfortable and what looks good on me for me (and sometimes DH). Not so that I can make other women jealous or to make men drool.

If it was only about comfort, most women wouldn't wear bras.

As someone with big boobs, it's much more comfortable to wear a bra than not to.

lol, you beat me to it. That PP must be a man or have normal to small boobs. D cup myself, and even walking fast can hurt.

What discomfort are you feeling? If it's upper back pain, recent studies are showing the correlation between large breast size and upper back pain is a myth.

to show how sexy they are.

When I show cleavage it is not on purpose. I have a hard time finding clothes to fit as I have huge boobs that don't match the rest of my body. If I find a shirt to fit I buy it. Yes sometimes the shirts I wear show more then I would like but I need clothes. Yes I am one of those people who have an unrational fear of never finding clothes to fit my body properly again.

This is ridiculous. It's neither trashy nor feminist to have your nine months pregnant stomach peep out of the bottom of your top occasionally. It's just life for a pregnant woman. That's all it is. What is trashy is not understanding why a nine months pregnant woman would have other priorities, expenses, and physical demands on her than to run out and buy new clothes. Absolutely insensitive. Unbelievably shallow to not understand.
