Why do women show cleavage?

She could very well choose to cover the cleavage but she does not. I think she's trying to attract men, maybe just for fun, or maybe send a signal to women that she has something they don't, so watch it.

You're socially awkward, aren't you?

That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard a man say or admit, gay or straight - all men - rich, poor, religious etc., love looking at boobs. I think you're an overweight, middle-aged woman and not a man. Pretty darn sure I'm correct.

Wow you are an idiot. Some boobs are better vs others and some you do not want to see. Yes if a man finds a women unattractive he does not want to see her boobs or anything else.

Same here. And a turtle neck just makes them look that much bigger anyways. I'm also not ashamed or uncomfortable of my big boobs, so you all just have to deal with my cleavage.

So, it's just practical and not, "Ha! Look at you then look at ME!"

Correct. I wear what's comfortable and what looks good on me for me (and sometimes DH). Not so that I can make other women jealous or to make men drool.

If it was only about comfort, most women wouldn't wear bras.

As someone with big boobs, it's much more comfortable to wear a bra than not to.

lol, you beat me to it. That PP must be a man or have normal to small boobs. D cup myself, and even walking fast can hurt.

Plus it's uncomfortable to have them hanging down.

My husband's company does not allow ta tas to be out. You will be sent home, written up, maybe get fired.

Zero tolerance, you dress for work not for sex. Wanna be a sex worker, go hit the light pole on the corner.

This. 36DD. I dress as modestly as I can, but there’s just a lot to peek at.

I don't understand this at all. I am a 36DD and never show cleavage. I wear blouses, scoop necks, tank tops, v-necks...none of them have me showing cleavage. Does it have to do with the way your bra fits? My boobs don't squeeze together and form a cleavage line. They are separated and the skin right above my bra is flat.

People like to highlight their best features. Some women have amazing breasts. Some choose to show off other features- my bee stings will never make cleavage no matter how many push up bras I wear, but I have a great butt so I wear clothes that highlight it. Men do it, too. Every guy I know with a halfway decent pair of arms chooses shirts that show off their muscles.

you can have mine!! I’m over them and just want to exercise and buy shirts and bras without it being a big production.

Because boobs are pretty. I wish I had good cleavage to show off, but mine requires a push up bra and still consists of mostly breastbone. If you got it, flaunt it.

NP here- how tall are you? I’m 5 feet tall and a 34DD. I have to wear camisoles under almost all of my tops and even then it’s hard to avoid showing clevage. I think it’s just because I’m so short the necklines are lower down than stores intend.

Wrong. Unlike what you think women aren't constantly comparing and wanting to one-up each other

I agree, showing cleavage is part of having big boobs and the way clothes fit. I wear a cami under most of my V-necks but still if I lean over, my boobs are exposed.

SHOWING CLEAVAGE is intentional and done to draw attention to the boobs. Same as if a guy leaves his shirt undone to draw attention to his pecs or abs. Lots of people want to show off their bodies and draw attention to their bodies. Women do this most often with boobs or their ass or belly sometimes, guys do the same but mostly with abs and upper body.
I think it unprofessional when people do this at work but otherwise....if they need or want others to notice their body, then go for it.

And the pregnancy belly is the same. It can show a little just as part of how clothes ride up or you can dress in a way to show off the belly.

Same here- it’s a height thing.

I really can’t stand to see cleavage at work. It’s not appropriate. Ladies, here’s a fact: you’ll never be considered for senior positions with your breasts popping out of your shirt. Wear a higher neckline. Invest in scarves for extra modesty when your neckline is lower. Your clothes are your first statement about yourself. That statement should not be “look at my breasts”. Save that for date night.
