I LOVE it. It's my favorite type of milk for cheese. I do prefer soft goat cheese to hard goat cheese, though. If I'm going to eat a hard cheese, my favorite is Comte, but it does not travel well - the best is at the farm in the Jura mountains in France. Divine. The best American goat cheese is the Humboldt Fog from Cypress Grove Chevre (California), available at Whole Foods. |
Comte is made with cow milk, not goat milk. OP and PPs who don’t like goat cheese - have you tried really fresh goat cheese? There are some cheese makers who sell at area markets. The cheese is usually made on Friday for weekend sales. It doesn’t have the funkiness that supermarket cheese has. I never buy any other kind of fresh goat cheese. Give it a try before you make up your minds for good! |
Love it. Especially with blueberries on it. |
A soft goat cheese is not stinky though. I hope that big industry doesn’t start ruining the poor goats’ diet to make the cheese less ‘interesting’ tasting for those of you who are apparently more at home with ‘easy cheese’ in a can. Stop fussing for gosh sakes. |
Maybe you should be keeping your own milk supply going, pumping it daily and making cheese out of it then.

What is everywhere is meat. Chorizo, beef, lamb, chicken, duck confit. Everything has meat cooked into it. You could easily order a salad without the goat cheese in it. Plus - that is a big list of dislikes. What exactly do you eat? |

| I almost vomit if I accidently get some in my mouth. Yack. |
| Ugh me too! And I feel like people think you are so low class if you don't like it. Please keep your nasty cheese! |
| Not a fan. Nasty on a pizza. And while we are at it hate the cranberries added to everything also. |

I hate goat cheese, blue cheese, Roquefort, Camembert. I wish it were otherwise. I speak French, went to Ivy League schools, have lots of money. But if the cheese isn't somewhere on the yellow-to-orange spectrum, I can't eat it.
Oh well. I like pate and learned to appreciate caviar. |
What? Goat cheese (or chevre) and feta cheese are two totally different things. One is super creamy tasting and can be creamy or a little crumbly, one is salty and crumbly. |
| I like goat cheese in my grits (with a bit of garlic). Absolutely delicious! |
| I learned to like goat cheese and now I love it. |
Fyi- Humboldt Fog is $29.99/lb at Whole Foods $17.99/lb at Costco $15.99/lb at Mom's Organic Market It pays to pay attention to cheese prices. |
