Um, you need help. As in, time is a'wasting. Run. |
I felt the same way and our neighbor told us do it (we were new from out of state) we never regretted for a minute. |
Sure. Advanced academics is a subset of "gifted and talented" -- "gifted and talented" can include the performing and visual arts, etc. FCPS does not have such programs in the performing and visual arts. Thus the distinction. |
Where does it say that AAP is a subset of GT? To be clear: I mean other than in your post. |
The name was changed not because it wasn't intended to be a gifted program anymore, but to make it clear that it is a gifted program based on academics, but not for those gifted in the arts. While in practice it is just an accelerated academic program, on paper it is justified as a gifted program. Read the statute that authorizes the program and it is very clear on this issue. |

| AAP is a joke that is spending way too much money in FCPS. It needs to stop. |
There are far more expensive and wasteful programs, like FLES. |
| AAP and FLES both need to go. But, for the record, AAP costs lots more and has lots of incidental costs that are difficult to measure. |
| ^ like parent insanity |
AAP is the crown jewel of the FCPS that is worth every cent. It is the envy of most school districts not just in this region but nationally. |
You clearly have AAP - UP YOUR A_ _! Get it??? The program sucks and needs to be overhauled in a serious way. Ya know back in the other tracking days people like you thought that was alright to because their kids were benefiting. |
If they only knew the truth!! |
Um, who nationally even knows about AAP?[u] Don't you get that it doesn't matter after 6th grade? |
I get that it is a hugely popular and successful program. Very happy witht eh instructors, curriculum and having DC around the other smart kids. |
