Consider the possibility that many Langley students and/or parents have displayed spoiled, entitled attitudes often enough that it has acquired a reputation for being an elitist bubble.

Examples please?

Langley Parents. Please read latest Saxon Scope, page 16 and then post.

If it wasn't true it would be simply ironic.

I like the quote, "the woman whose greatest certainty is her husband's ATM PIN", ouch.

I have students at one of the HSs and friends with students at the other HS. We go to PTSA meetings, Principal's coffees, AP night, talk with counselors, volunteer in the school. The Principal and the PTSA routinely bring in experts about how to manage stress for your child, have a showing of 'Road to Nowhere".... There was a Washington Post article a few weeks ago about the McLean PTA President and her efforts to reduce stress at the school.

I once said to the principal "Instead of holding stress seminars, why don't you simply reduce stress?" I got a blank stare.

How would you respond to an asinine comment when "WTF?" while accurate, would be inappropriate?

Because a principal can't take action to reduce the factors causing stress in his own school?

Who do you blame when it rains?

Rain brings flowers and rainbows. Too much stress causes health issues, depression and suicide.

You already single-handedly had a Langley suicide thread shut down with all your gross attempts to connect your kid's stress to other kids' suicides. Don't try to do it again here.

I have news for you sweetheart. I'm glad some kids are happy there. Truly. But some kids are not. And that matters to me more. Why? Because those are the kids at risk. That might not matter to you or anyone else who's kids are happy there - and guess what....that would be consistent with the utter arrogance and selfishness of people in the DC area. Where I come from, we reach out and help others. We do make fun of those suffering.

You people disgust me.

It is not online yet. Child brought home today. Parents will have it. Editorial describing Langley elitist culture. Must have been very brave to write.

So do you go to every high school and minister to the kids there who are at risk? Because if you're intent on only "helping" Langley kids, you'll be missing innumerable unhappy kids who attend other high schools. How will you help them? Have you been in contact with their administrations and teachers too, as well as badmouthing them on anonymous forums? No one here is making fun of anyone. We are simply requesting that you stop lumping every student who attends Langley into one perceived (by you) bucket of misery. Your child was unhappy. Move on.

I am but one person. I do what I can. After all, I'm only human.

Again, read this thread and others here. I am constantly appalled at how nastily competitive DC area people are. It's like a blood-sport to y'all!

Nice try. You are the one who forced the Langley suicide thread to be shut down because you insisted on making that specific sad death (where you absolutely did not know anything about) the poster case for your kid's stress. It didn't work there. Don't try it again here. Everything else you said is irrelevant to that point.

Oh wow... that's some martyr complex you've got. Might want to see someone about it.

Ok, now I'm completely baffled. I graduated in the same class as Steve. What on earth does he have to do with this?
