Yes. |
Ugh, can't stand douchebags like that. |
Looks like the insular Southern "bros" have discovered this thread! |
Have cousins that fall into this group. I have been forced to spend time with them. I would never be friends with them. Would never speak to them if they weren't family. They are beneath me. It is too hard to dumb things down for them. |
| They have nicknames for everyone. In fact they nickname entire colleges of women because they think that women are just toys for their pleasure to use when they are drunk. Simmons College is" Simmons Mattress", Pine Manor is" Pine Mattress", Scripps - "Scrippers", and don't forget Wellesley women going out for the night on the "_uck truck". Yes these highly educated wealthy good old boys, North or South love to demean others. |
| oh god, I work with a guy who is EXACTLY like this. White privilege coming out his ears and completely ignorant about any non-European culture, and happy about it. |
+1 You got that right! |
| you' e just described much of the commercial real estate broker community in DC, and the Chevy Chase Club! they may not be from the Deep South, but DC has a strong contingent of the seersucker suit with no socks wearing insular culture. They all left DC for college for about 2 minutes and now are back to claim their parents' lives. |
Yes. They are clearly the snobs. Lol |
Eh. I think judging someone for not traveling outside the country - yes, even with financial means to do so - is pretty shitty as well. |
| I've lived in DC for three years and I never meet people like this... |
Oh yeah I knew a group like this in college. They were called the Manhattanites.

Haven't read all the posts, but I disagree with the person who said Southern preps and Northern preps are the same.
Southern Preps: *Conservative politics *Ladies want their MRS ASAP *Live in a white person bubble *Duke, Vanderbuilt, UVA Northern Preps: *Liberal politics *Ladies want their MD, MA, MS, MBA or Ph.D *Value diversity *Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Amherst, etc |
| Agree with 16:06, but someone made that point a couple pages earlier. Everyone's been saying that northeast preps and southeast preps are very different. |
| We call it "southern charm" around here. Applicable to both men and women from the south. |
