Reported Neighbor That Allows Pet Feces to Accumulate in Yard

You do realize that rats are afraid of dogs and are actually scared off by dogs instead of attracted? Dog feces would of course facilitate the rats keeping away. Common sense, anyone?

Nope. When the dog's inside, that backyard is like a buffet for rats.

Gladys Kravitz looks tame next to this type of neighbor.

Precisely. My neighbor sued our other neighbor because her compost pile stank too much. She lost, and moved on to another neighbor. There's always one. (I am not saying the OP is necessarily this neighbor.)

Not OP, but on OP's side: I can't believe there are so many people defending someone's right to have a yard piled up with dog crap. Who are you people?

+1,000

Weird, right? I am a pp above who reported a poop offender -- the attitude of the tenant and then their landlord when I tried to resolve this with them directly rather than take it up with the city is pretty reflective of all of these MYOB responses.

+2,000 (or is it 3,000?)

There are some awesome dog owners, but some dog owners are real jerks. Let their dog poop everywhere, let them run around off leash on public property (that isn't a dog park). I'm noticing a new trend of people bringing their precious doggies into stores (not service animals). Were you people raised by wolves? You love your dog and that's great, but you should never force others to deal with your dog - crap, or otherwise.

Waiting for the dog lovers to chime and say "the same thing goes for kids."

I would throw poison over the fence.

I was thinking it, but wasn't going to say it.

He NEVER picks up after them and after 3 years of dealing with it I finally decided to call the county (Montgomery) today to complain. It is so gross and unsanitary, yet I feel bad knowing that he'll know that I complained. I've never approached him directly but my neighbor across the street did once. I couldn't find much info on what the county will do but they told me that they'd go inspect.

And...what happened?

the DCUM slobs who don't mind living next to piles of poop

Aren't most grown adults too busy (really) to notice what their neighbors are or are not doing? Who wants to live next to someone who does not MYOB? No one I know.

how busy must one be not to be bothered by smelling shit everytime they go home? Some people don't mind living next to crap and some people do. It's like having to work next to a stinky person. How much stench one can stand is going to vary from person to person.

I don't know if I'd call the police, but then again I can't imagine what it must be like in the summer - ugghhh

OP sounds like a crazy, alarmist, deflecting neighbor who likely lives in filth herself.

If such is not the case, she may have a point. The county might be able to determine if it is a true issue, or if OP is trying to make it something it is not.

If the issue is that you think they have too many dogs, it is up to you to find out if there is a true issue. If not, STFU.

No one likes the crazy alarmist neighbor who tries to mob against someone they might be jealous of, or worse.

OP, are you the type to regularly whine or look for targets? The stuck in high school type, looking for problems? If not, I say try to report it and see what happens, if anything.

If you are not that type, why would you come here? It makes no sense, otherwise.

PP, I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you this, but the only thing you accomplished in this post is revealing yourself to be batshit crazy, with very poor reading comprehension skills. Why don't you step out into your yard, pick up some of the dog poop, and come back here to try again once you've calmed down?

What's your problem? Not quite the MYOB type, huh? Sorry for you, indeed.

ITA that if it is not one thing, it will definitely be another with OP. OP is looking for trouble. Maybe watch your kids instead, OP?

Why isn't this thread posted on the real estate board?

So PP is right; you're totally unhinged. And you very helpfully keep writing in the same format.

I like how you're trying to make it look like you're NOT sockpuppeting in support of your original crazy rant. Good effort, but next time try to mix up your writing style a bit so what you're doing is not so painfully obvious to the rest of us.

Part of being a responsible dog owner is to not live in a animal hoarding-like environment. If you own dogs, you need to clean up after them even in your own backyard.

Really, it smells in February? More likely you just don't like your neighbor and this is the best you can come up with to play passive aggressive neighbor games. I don't have a dog but do have a neighbor likes you who likes to stir things up...

I was thinking the same thing. There is no smell in this weather. Even in summer, dog poop dries after a day or so, so at most you're talking about a day's worth of poop causing smell, which you're going to experience even if they picked up daily or every other day. I think the issue is more the volume than anything with 5-6 dogs.

Huh...just realized my post calling the PP who suggested poisoning the dogs a psycho was removed. Interesting that advocating killing dogs is cool to say, but calling out someone for saying it is not.

As a farm girl and avid composter, if the neighbor's compost pile stunk, it wasn't a compost pile. It was a garbage heap and a common nuisance. Proper compost piles do not give off any bad odors.

I'm with OP on this one. If the dog shit is bad enough for you to notice, it's a problem worth reporting.
