You sound like a shit stirrer, OP. Pun intended. Chances are, you do not know who you are dealing with. You don't sound very bright. Do you really want to live next door to someone you complained about?

Can you afford to move? If not, shut it.

Hopefully, the OP is not a scaredy cat like you.

You know, PP, if you can't get outside to clean up your dog's poo, there are companies that you can hire to do it for you.

I would tell them that they are stinking up the neighborhood, or at least leave them a note. I would probably also plant pines, lemongrass and mint all around my yard. And some flytraps.

What does that mean? Did you read the post at all? You don't sound very bright.

This definitely sounds like a threat.

You do realize that rats are afraid of dogs and are actually scared off by dogs instead of attracted? Dog feces would of course facilitate the rats keeping away. Common sense, anyone?

enough shit will attract rats, and unless the dogs are out all the time to keep the rats away your common sense is flawed.
BTDT, dogs do not magically keep rats away...

anyone who is allowing shit to accumulate in their yard is not going to take kindly to being told by their neighbor that it's unsanitary. They clearly don't give a shit, which is why their yard is a feces pit.

I had a neighbor with a similar habit -- they would let their dogs out in the front yard to shit, and never cleaned it up. I reported it to the authorities, and their landlord got a ticket for the violation. They moved out shortly thereafter.

I would be annoyed if I had to look at something like that as well, but I don't think the county can do anything about it. It is his property after all. Also, all that poop must be good to his soil, being a fertilizer and all.

It is NOT a fertilizer

That might help the smell, but my dog goes to the mint plant to poop. She nibbles on it like an after breath mint.

Was this in Montgomery County?

We had a slob neighbor, and our ratter dog habitually caught rats on their side of the fence. It was disgusting, but we took pictures anyway. I have seen non hunting dogs do this too, but via different approach. Approach is contingent upon breed.

OP, if it is a true rat issue (likely not since any dog or cat deters, or at least catches, vermin one way or another - PP needs to get their facts straight). You could take pictures and report them. If not, you are likely SOL.

If you simply do not like your neighbor because your DH thinks she's hot, and wishes you would be more like her, you are SOL.
