Reported Neighbor That Allows Pet Feces to Accumulate in Yard

OP, did you know this when you moved in? Did neighbors try to warn you?

No but when I moved in he only had 1 dog. Over the past couple of years, I have seen up to 6 dogs in his yard, but regularly 4, plus his girlfriend has a dog so that makes it 5 most of the time. With more dogs, the poop is more noticeable.

Maybe he is a dog walker.

They make mountains out of molehills because they have other issues and are in need of professional help, but refuse to admit it.

Gladys Kravitz looks tame next to this type of neighbor.

You sound like you have a mental age of about 15. No one wants to live next to a pile of dog shit. That's not OP trying to start trouble.

I wonder what kind of filth you "MYOB" people live in if the accumulated crap of 4-6 dogs seems like mountains out of molehills. Bluch.

I love dogs, but would be so irritated if my neighbor left dog poop all over his yard. It smells and is unsanitary. Let us know if the county actually does anything about your neighbor!

Do you have a limit on how many pets a person can have in your area? 4 or 5 dogs sounds like a lot.

Apparently Mont. County does not have a law on the number of pets a person can have in their home.

Dirty people, hoarders, bad neighbors.

OP, if the yard is full of feces, it's not healthy for the dogs (or the humans) living in the house. Besides the stench, in the warmer months, I imagine it attracts flies--not a healthy situation for the dogs since flies bite and create sores.

You're doing the right thing. Your neighbor is not.

Why risk getting involved? Don't be some kind of vigilante & call the authorities; that's why we pay taxes. Better to just denounce them & go on with life.

Calling the authorities is the opposite of vigilantism.

I am totally in op's corner except that she admits she didn't even really try to handle it directly with the neighbor. I think I would do that first, just because you have to live near these people for a long time to come. But if the neighbor was rude or unwilling to do anything about it, I would absolutely report it.

OP sounds like a crazy, alarmist, deflecting neighbor who likely lives in filth herself.

If such is not the case, she may have a point. The county might be able to determine if it is a true issue, or if OP is trying to make it something it is not.

If the issue is that you think they have too many dogs, it is up to you to find out if there is a true issue. If not, STFU.

No one likes the crazy alarmist neighbor who tries to mob against someone they might be jealous of, or worse.

OP, are you the type to regularly whine or look for targets? The stuck in high school type, looking for problems? If not, I say try to report it and see what happens, if anything.

If you are not that type, why would you come here? It makes no sense, otherwise.

OP, congrats on drawing the "my property, my right to create public health hazards" loons out of their bunkers.

I sincerely hope your neighbor is not in that camp and that they don't shoot you for suggesting they clean up their dogs' shit.

Actually, it is true that rats like dog feces.

Literally had me bursting out laughing - thanks.

Pretty scary responses. There are laws in some states that will limit the number of dogs an owner can have when they violate the sanitary laws. That is a build up of feces.

People are off their rockers, eh?

The busting out laughing. Spitting up my coffee poster is not as clever or witty as she thinks she is. Give it a rest

PP, I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you this, but the only thing you accomplished in this post is revealing yourself to be batshit crazy, with very poor reading comprehension skills. Why don't you step out into your yard, pick up some of the dog poop, and come back here to try again once you've calmed down?
