Bruce Jenner continues his quest to become a woman

I am very close with someone who transitioned from man to woman at around the same age, and Bruce looks exactly like she did when she was midway through the process. The surgeries to soften facial features and reduce the Adam's apple usually happen before the rest of the changes, assuming Bruce takes that next step. If I recall correctly, there are waiting periods between operations and you have to be on hormones for a certain amount of time. It's a long process if you do it in the US under the care of a good medical team. If he believes he is a woman, then more power to him. He should live out the rest of his life the way he wants to, regardless of what the public thinks.

Yes, I also avoid steroids in milk and meat. No OCPs either. That is not what modern medicine is for.
No one knows why these people want to do a gender change, but I don't support it at all. In 200 years they will be laughing at us.
No one has been able to show that these folks are any happier after the transformation.

Your child is not an extension of you. I hope you learn that one day.

Well, apparently you dropped out of high school before learning about birth defects and chromosomal abnormalities that cause a person to have the wrong genitalia or unclear genitalia where doctors just guess and assign a gender, sometimes incorrectly. There are lots of reasons people feel like they're born into the wrong body and most have nothing to do with mental illness. If your child was blind or deaf or had 11 fingers or club feet, wouldn't you try and get medical help to allow them to lead as normal a life as possible? Well, chromosomal abnormalities and hermaphroditic disorders fall under that category (I have no idea if this is Jenner's issue or not) and 64 yrs ago they really had no knowledge of this or way to test and thought if you raised a kid as a boy they'd identify as a boy.

Gender identity disorder is labeled as a medical disorder. Of course, you can't ignore the psychology behind it either, as it does muddy the waters quite a bit!

NP, it is interesting that people love labeling others ignorant because they don't agree with their beliefs. He is an embarrassment to his four children. This is something he should have done before he decided to procreate. His sons are already defending his actions by stating that Bruce is not seeking to be a woman. He is simply trying to look longer to keep up with Kris. denial all around.

Tolerant does not mean acceptance of all things. I am not the poster you are attempting to ridicule. I tend to lean left, vote primarily democrat do to the harshness of republican leaders, and yet i too have a problem accepting these transgender assignments, especially for those so advanced in age. At some point, though, society has to decide when to stay out of things and when not to. There must be boundaries. No, because the problem is who is drawing that line, and the fact that where that line is evolves and changes in societies. What should "society" have to say about someone's gender identity anyway?
