Bluemont neighborhood of Arlington

The Ballston mall is horrible though - such a waste of prime real estate. It definitely needs something!

I don't think that Bluemont should be judged based on the quality of the Ballston mall. Arlington doesn't have any good shopping malls - Pentagon City is somewhat better than Ballston, but it's still a mess that I avoid at all costs.

Is anyone really judging? I see it that people are presenting the facts. I live fairly close to the Ballston mall and even though I'm annoyed there aren't better options, it didn't stop me from buying this house.

Someone was just telling the truth. It's a lousy mall that is a negative, not a positive, factor if you're considering the area. Why are people so thin-skinned? Any comment that isn't gushing praise for Arlington immediately gets dissected to shreds.

You make it sound like the mall is a crime-ridden, rat-infested, gangster-owned piece of property.

It's a mall! With thousands of people visiting it every day.

No, it's not my favorite mall but I fail to see how this can be a "negative", because where else can you, realistically, expect to be able to walk to a mall?

How does "lousy" = rats & gangsters?

PP, you are taking it personally for some reason and reading too much into the comments.

Anyway, Bluemont is a great neighborhood.

As long as Ballston continues to have that massive bus stop, it will always be kind of gross. It's never going to be like Clarendon.

Oh yes, buses! Those are for the poors?!

New metro entrance will help a lot.

I don't care whether they are poor. I do care when the bus stop attracts hordes of loiterers who are screaming, smoking, and acting like animals.
