you had a bad experience at one of these schools? why did you find it so "shitty"?

(I know. I was just trying to call out that PP on the BS since he/she obviously has no clue and no real experience with these schools.)

We're going to buy in the spring and Bluemont is high on our list because of the WO&D trail - we have easy access to Rock Creek park now and have used it more than we thought we would.

Yes, that is why the desirable neighborhoods ar ein the 22203 and 22205 zip codes. The schools have always been good because "normal" people live in those neighborhoods and have children to populate the schools.

As opposed to people who do not recognize the value of others and have taught their children the same unfortunate attitude.

PP Sit down while I tell you this The Italian Store in Westover will actually have tables rather than the little bar at the store in Lyon Village. That has been the big stumbling block with Arlington County but Tommy Tramonte has gotten through it. Can you say "Milano on a hard roll, sweet peppers, please"

I have lived in Bluemont for three years, and I love it. There's really a community feel, and there are parks, streams, trails, etc. My part of the neighborhood has a large block party every year, and I know a lot of my neighbors. It's walking distance to Ballston, which is really changing.

As to schools, our part of Bluemont is zoned for Ashlawn/Kenmore/W&L. Our child is in Ashlawn, and I am very impressed by the teachers and staff. I don't have any first-hand experience with Kenmore, but many of our neighbors have been very happy with it. Diversity isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Yup! And it will be just three blocks west of Bluemont. The Swanson kids could give them fairly brisk after school business if they invest in a Slurpee or Slushie machine. Apart from lottery tickets and beer that was probably the 7-11's main revenue stream.

That PP isn't the only one reeling. I'm glad you told us to sit down! It's a paradise!

The issue with Kemore isn't diversity, but persistently low achievement. I'm not sure why you'd equate the two.
