Triplets in House Fire in Bethesda--Install Fire Detectors

Anonymous
Wow, talk about kicking someone when they are down. Some of these posts are so mean and heartless. Even if you are so conscientious as to never make a mistake and always do the right thing, how would you feel if this happened to your brother's family, your sister's family, your nieces, nephews, parents . . .? This is not the time to lay down the scorn and shake fingers. I sincerely hope that the family does not see this thread.

I don't think blame is a worthwhile response for anyone. I think kissing your own children, and learning from this experience, is the best you can do.

The Petrucelli Relief website that a pp posted states the kids are in critical condition but are stable. It also states that the fire detectors and carbon monoxide monitors were being upgraded from hardwired to remote use, so they were not active at the time of the accident. The family also does thank the firefighters on this site.

The site never mentions that firefighters were injured saving the children - never even acknowledges it.

Someone should set up a site for the firefighters instead.

THEY DIDN'T HAVE SMOKE ALARMS.

it's THEIR FAULT and they're paying for it.

God is going to strike you down for that comment.

I am DISGUSTED by the mean comments of people on DCUM. How do you all know that the 'relief fund' wont go straight to the firefighters or to burn victims. I remotely know this family and can tell you, they are wonderful people....do NOT judge or you too shall be judged. A friend set up the fund, so maybe the wording is misleading to people but I think people are really quick to judge. And frankly, judgement is not needed, PRAYERS ARE NEEDED, there are 3 precious children and mutiple fire fighters and a parent that were badly hurt. PRAY FOR THESE PEOPLE AND THAT THEY WILL BE HEALED..... !!!

PRAYERS PRAYERS PRAYERS....PLEASE GIVE YOUR PRAYERS....

May God bless you all reading this, you and your families.

People who wouldn't BE hurt if common sense had been deployed by any of the three adults present.

Actually the relief fund website, not generated by the family but by a Mutliples support group, mentions the firefighters at least twice, thanking them at the end for their efforts. Not for or against, but lets stick with the facts here.

I kinda think God has more important matters to attend to than who posts what on DCUM!

I can't tell you how important smoke detectors are! You should have them in EVERY floor of your house (especially the attic and basement). Our attic one went off today, because the people in the townhouse next door started a fire and DIDN'T OPEN THEIR FLUE!!! They had no idea, we went next door to ask them if their detectors were going off because ours were and it smelled weird. You never know when you will need one. If you don't have a detector, get one, if you have one, check and make sure your batteries work!

Whew. You guys are really scary.

One possibility for donations of money or time is the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad. It receives sixty percent of its financial support from individual donations. Trained volunteers and professionals share the work.

The site never says that firefighters were injured. So yes, let's stick with facts.
