Why do DCUMs claim "overpopulation"...

Nice try asshole. A family of 8 in a developing or undeveloped country Uses far fewer resources than a family of 4 in the America.

But then they walk across our southern border and stay...

The first of your ancestors to arrive in America - do you have a scanned copy of their immigration papers per chance?

Yep. From Ancestry.com

Next question?

Really? San you post it for us? If I'm aware, Ancestry.com does not post immigration papers on their records.

Really? It's the ship manifest.

And why the hell would I post that for strangers? Just cope with the fact that most of us are here rightfully and yet now that's going out the window. You can't exactly walk here from Europe or Asia, genius.

If you think "ship manifest" has something to do with someone's immigration status, your relatives were probably illegal. Or just really lucky. Or white. Or a combination of all 3.

Oh Christ, let it go. If you can't figure out the horrible drain illegals have on our current system, you're sadder than I thought. And just as pathetic as the rest of the liberals around here. I won't be here permanently (I know, "there's the door," how original of you!), but y'all will be stuck with this. ENJOY.

Ugh. You're not only a disgusting racist wingnut idiot, but you're derailing a very interesting discussion. Please do show yourself the door.

I'd love to hear more on people's thoughts regarding overpopulation. I'm with the posters who think that every extra child born in the US will be a larger drain on resources than kids born to parents in poorer countries, and I wish Americans (and honestly people all over the world, although I get that the issues are complex) would limit their family size. If you search DCUM for old threads on "should I have a third" and "should I have a fourth", you'll notice that years ago - like 2008 - posters would advise sticking with a smaller size, please consider the planet, etc. Now you'll see much less of that - it's more like "go for it!" with much less mention of environmental impact.

The overall U.S. birth rate is pretty low, though -- and is only above replacement level at all because of immigrants. I have four kids and I don't feel the least bit guilty about it. I know SO many people who have no children and aren't going to have any. The way I look at it is, I'm having one for each of them and we're still below replacement level.

1) Namecalling: Awesome only for left-wingers!

2) You're stuck with me for a while. And you don't get to tell me for how long. TOO BAD SO SAD.

I know we can't all be the sharpest tool in the box - thanks for taking one for the team, 18:12/pp!

Source, please?

You have none. My ancestors all came here legally. STFU.

How the hell could Europeans (or more than maybe a handful, if that?) come here illegally? Do you not understand borders and oceans?

Idiots!!

A "ship manifest" doesn't have anything to do with citizenship or legality, dingdong.

Somehow I think that the Native Americans who were pushed off their lands, including the land I'm typing from in DC, would disagree with you.

Same poster: Remember the Anacostia River is named (incorrectly) after a tribe? http://tribaldirectory.com/anacostia-indians-or-nacotchtank/

How about the Potomac? Also from a tribe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patawomeck
