Why do DCUMs claim "overpopulation"...

Your ancestors all came here legally because there didn't used to be such a thing as illegal immigration, unless of course you were Chinese or Japanese. Or African - but that wasn't immigration of people, it was importation of property, so it doesn't really count.

So yes, you can be proud that your ancestors didn't break the law when they came to the US -- but given that there was no law for them to break, I don't think it's much to be proud of.

Not the OP, but if the birth rate in US falls below 2, the economy will tank. Google it.

I have a PhD. I think I'm pretty educated.

Maybe. But you are not very smart.

And you are full of BS. If you have the fact, spit it out.

One child policy, smarty pants. And they are facing labor and aging population problem.

Nice try asshole. A family of 8 in a developing or undeveloped country Uses far fewer resources than a family of 4 in the America.

OP here. If I have 5 kids and I do not "drain" resources (for example large families living self sufficiently on a farm), what is the problem?

No problem, they are jealous.

You live completely self sufficient on your farm? Your own private water source and sanitizion system? Your own electricity? Your own clothing, fabric, dyes? Where does the runoff from your farm go? Do you have your own air, or is your air shared with non-family members? Will the offspring created by all your children (and their children's children, and their children's children's children, and so forth) all live on your farm forever, all autonomous?

You are full of crap. None of us is an island, so what? Why don't you go challenge the big polluters and super rich who such up all the resources?

It's irresponsible. Three kids, that's one thing. But beyond that, I do believe it is irresponsible.

Why 3? Who are you to decide for others? What if I say 1, or 10?

Because there is no such thing as "self sufficiency" and the actions of your family (and my family) do impact others, and with lasting effects. I try and make concerted efforts to not support big polluters, be wasteful, and make changes in my own life. But it goes without saying that the *biggest* way we can reduce environmental impact, is to bring fewer people onto the planet.

No.

Everyone I know with 3+ is overwhelmed, or pretend to be overwhelmed. Can't the get the hint and close their legs, frankly?

I mean really, you only have sex every 18 months anyway, whats the difference if you spread it out more and give us all a break?

So what, it is their choice. I might not like your shitty life either.

It's a one child policy, Einstein.

Thank-you. I was off by one. Still the point remains that at least one very large and important country has decided as a matter of policy to limit the number of births.

Right, why don't you try live under that policy for a couple of years?
