Anyone thinking of Green Acres School in "North Bethesda?"

I'm fine with calling it North Bethesda - because then I know exactly what neighborhood we are talking about. If you say Rockville - I don't think of the area south of Montrose.

GA sounds like a sad place to be.

I can't imagine a less accurate view. Go see for yourself. You might not like it, but if you thought it was anything but joyful you'd be unusual.

The school song sums it up:

Green Acres is the place for me.
Farm schoolin' is the choice for DC.
Land spreadin' out so far and wide
Keep NW DC, just give me that countryside.

Green Acres didn't make up the North Bethesda moniker. But it is in Rockville, honey, even if they would like to brand themselves as more Bethesda-like. Seems a little petty/pathetic though.

Anything less "countryside" than Rockville Pike I can't imagine. Including Manhattan.

Let me guess - you skipped map reading?

We had relatives living down the street from GA decades ago, and people in the neighborhood were calling it North Bethesda even then. Just because the Post Office gives you a "Rockville" zip code, doesn't make it Rockville.

Wow. What a bunch of sanctmonious, self-serving, heads-up-asses, snotty bitches.

(Oooh, Mitzi, did you hear she used the word "bitch"? *Clutches pearls*. I must disinvite her from our luncheon at the club, post-haste!)

When I became an initial owner of one of Tuckerman Lane condos in 1988n it was clearly advertised as Rockville. By the time I sold 12 years later, the realtors had morphed it into "North Bethesda." One thing that never changed was the zip code: 20852. Sounds like Rockville to me!
I work by White Flint mall and our address is North Bethesda. They tell me this is the post office's designation. Not that I care one way or another. As someone who doesn't live nearby, the whole thing is vaguely amusing.

The grounds are beautiful, and I've only heard great things about it from people who attend. My kids went to summer camp there, and we loved it.

Never understood why the North Bethesda label botherd some so much. Do you people realize that much of Montgomery County is unincorporated. Bethesda as a whole is a figment of realtor's imagination. Then there's Potomac. With the western leg of the redline finally undergoing its orange line type revitalization it's only a matter of time until perceptions change again.

Astounding how few people know where the border of Rockville is.

HINT| Green Acres is not in Rockville

We had relatives living down the street from GA years ago (they have since passed away). Their mailing address then was Rockville. I don't know what it would be now. It is all the Post Office's say. We lived between Strathmore and White Flint at the time and our mailing address was Kensington, lol. Since when does Kensington touch Rockville Pike. Same was true for stores within White Flint at the time. It is all pretty meaningless.
