| I was in BBB with my 3 month old full Asian daughter and a clerk said she was adorable and asked if she was part white. I've always been puzzled by that comment (dd is 4 years now). I assumed that she felt she could only be so cute because she had white features. This thread has me thinking again. I was a bit offended. |
Biracial does not just refer to black+white. |
There are many biracial people who look strange and health has nothing to do with it. Sometimes you get the worst of both sides and not the best. Also this thread is offensive. |
Relax, you have probably been asked because she doesn't necessarily have all the features people of other races associate with Asians. John Legend looks Korean to me. He has many features I would associate with Koreans but he's not Korean. |
| Some of THE most stunning people in the world are Icelandic. Do with that what you will. |
Such as...? |
I don't think I've ever even seen an Icelandic person |
Bjork? I don't think she is stunning though. |
Really? I don't think he looks Korean at all. |
Are you AA? Most AA are not black but mixture of white genes with black skin. Look at Nelson Mandela and Kofi Annan. Those are black |
|
OP (and others that agree),
Is it because they look less "ethnic" and more white? Think about it an you'll see why people find the statement offensive. |
Are you white? |
I'm Nigerian. Both of my parents are from Nigeria. |
+1 Thank you OP. Such hypocrisy. There was a thread about how blue-eyed blond kids get look-based compliments much more than others and the posters there thought the non-blonds and minorities are too sensitive. But god-forbid someone says something nice about mixed-race people.

I think the descriptor "incredibly beautiful" set people off. |
