NP here.

Why do some consider this line of thinking offensive?

Because it means that the minority race isn't pretty enough until you mix "whiteness" with it.

Uh... Which minority? Is there one?
I don't know one African American who is pure African. I'm at 51%.

Sure there is. I'm 100% Korean, straight out of Seoul. Pure bloodlines are very important in Confucianism. I have a mixed child and a full Korean child and objectively, while the mixed one is adorable, the full one is better looking.

And what is the "majority" race?

Wait, why is this topic even vaguely acceptable? Can I start one about how Nordic blue-eyed blondes are so beautiful (I am not one, BTW).

Just soooo gorgeous, that flaxen hair, those blue eyes and fair skin . . .

I mean gross. Beautiful people are found in all races and mixes.

I assume you include eurasian people, arabic-caucasian people, and everything in between? I went to a high-school were the majority had parents from different parts of the world - many were quite striking.

Only in America would complimenting someone on their looks seem the least bit offensive. How sad not be to able to politely appreciate beauty out loud.

Agree. I'm mixed - Japanese and Caucasian. Added to that, I think it's the Japanese side that adds some exotic and beauty. If I was all white, I might look like my very unattractive Caucasion father. Sorry dad.

Maybe it's the way it's written, a bit dramatic, almost like a novel, that some people don't like.

Wouldn't all African Americans be considered "mixed race" to some extent, thanks to the horrible legacy of slavery and the rapes of so many female slaves by their owners? Or are they mix of a mix and therefore do not count according to OP? Or maybe OP thinks that on the whole, African Americans are better looking than whites? Or maybe the entire premise of this thread is sort of silly and borderline stupid?

Definitely attractive but incredibly beautiful, not sure I totally agree.

What do you mean by this?

Their skin is a splendid golden-brown color. Their hair is thick, voluminous, and curly. Their facial features are exotic yet balanced. They are so extraordinary.

Some of them even have green or hazel eyes. And the contrast between the dark skin and light eyes is exquisite.
And they tend to age slower.

Of course, not all B/W biracial people are like this--but most are.

Not exactly a random sample here.

My kids are biracial and it seems like they get an unusual number of comments on their looks (maybe it's very common to comment on the looks of kids but I always find it odd.) I don't think they are exceptionally good looking and it's gotten to feel like people are going out of their way to comment for no reason.

A lot of African Americans are stunning.

I was thinking the same.
Like they are called beautiful if they have the white features with dark skin

I think people are more likely to pay attention to and complement biracial children because their particular combination of features are more unusual--similar to how people stop on the streets and stare at blondes in some parts of Asia.

Most black people don't have big/flat noses.

I'm black and I don't--neither does anyone in my family, except my father.
