Takoma Park newer construction vs Pimmit Hills Which would you rather

Why the attacks on Tysons? Everyone should work on the Hill? Didn't your mother tell you how boring life would be if everything stayed the same and no one progressed forward? Should we all live in old, small, smelly houses to make PP happy? Yikes.

Yeah, because if I could afford a new house, I would just be PRETENDING I couldn't. Because that is NOT transparent. RIIIIIIGHT. Why make your situation so obvious? When there is no sense to be had, there is no sense to be had.....

If I could afford a big new house, I would. And I wouldn't be trying to attack those who have been successful in their own lives. Everyone I know with a new house has no mortgage, and has made great decisions in their lives. That is part of why they are happy. Try it.

You must not know very many people. No wonder you like bland new construction in Pimmit Hills.

The house in Takoma Park was built in 2006. Get a grip.

Now you just sound stupid. Not everyone likes new construction or the step ford neighborhoods it is often found in. Lots of people pay 800k and more for old Victorians. They could afford 500k cookie cutter houses, but they don't like them.
Newsflash: everyone is not you, people have different tastes.

No, clearly everyone is just totally jealous of a new build that could be plopped down in any bland subdivision anywhere in the US. She's got us figured out.

The cookie cutter PH new builds are now 950k + not sure where you got 500k from.

The PH house is character-free and bland, and made over to appeal to the maximum number of buyers.

The best thing would be to monitor both and compare days on the market when both sell.

It's also more expensive than anything that's gone on the market in Pimmit Hills.

No doubt tysons corner is a big emloyment center. And most of us don't get to choose where our firm locates. But are there people, all things equal, who would really choose tc (or silvrr spring, bethesda) over downtown? So yes, if you're stuck in ttsons corner, ph might be a good place to live.

I do not care for the PH house at all as it is cookie-cutter, min-McMansion infill. I was underwhelmed by the interior of the TP house. While it has certain beautiful, high-quality finishes (bathroom, screened porch floor), it also retains many of the standard, neutral aspects and lack of detailing that characterize even the nicer, higher-end, new construction in this area.

Where is the character, the charm, the lovely detailing?

Some of the accusations on here are really random. Personal attacks for someone you don't know and know practically nothing about? Really? I understand talking about money and houses, but I don't get any other reference. Unless it is out of desperation, of course.
