I’m a Carolyn and a childhood nickname was CC (my initials)I always wanted to be a Carly but it never stuck. Now that I’m older I could see myself using Carrie, Cara, or Caro |
Why would you revive a thread from 1.5 years ago to post this?? I always wonder how people do this- do they search for something and then just respond without regard for the date? The baby in the OP has long ago been born and named. |
I stand corrected- just looked to the beginning and the OP is 6 years old!!! The little Carolyn certainly has a nickname by now. |
My name is Carolyn, I have never had a nickname. I do not like to be called Carrie, K-Lyn, Caroline, Carol, or Carrie-Lyn. Carolyn is a beautiful name and I prefer to be called by my given name as my mother choose that name for me. I am in my 50's and came from a large family, most of my siblings also go by their given names even though there are very common nicknames for them like Barbara, Teresa and William. |
My sister is Carolyn which went from Carolyn to Lyn to Lyn-Bin to Bino. |
I know a Callie. Her full name is Calleen. |
I like Callie and Cai |
Zombie thread alert.
Carolyn is 6 years old. |
While people name their kids Callie its not a name unto itself. Its etymology is diminutive of Caroline. https://www.behindthename.com/name/callie |

I don't know any kids around here who don't go by their proper names or a predictable/standard nickname for their full name (like Ben for Benjamin). I'd say most kids in my circle go by their full name and don't have a nickname at all. |
This Thread is 8 YRS OLD |
As someone who’s spent a lot of time in the UK, I feel bad for anyone who went with the nickname “Carzie” ![]() |
