I would like to name our DD Carolyn, after my grandmother. However my husband would like to call her by a nn. Any suggestions on a cute nickname for Carolyn?

Carrie
Cara Callie Carnie Carly Linnie Lyn Linna |
I knew someone who used Caro. I like Callie. |
Definitely Callie |
Carolyn is lovely, but you are setting up the lifetime of "Caroline" v. "Carolyn"...for that reason alone I'd pass on either name.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQ8BoYEgy1I fast forward to about the 4:10 mark. |
Isn't it pretty obvious? Carrie. Maybe Lyn.
But OP, I prefer it when nicknames grow organically rather than when people try to plan out a "cute" or "sophisticated" nickname before their child is even born. Why not wait until she gets here, then decide what you think fits her? |
What about Cally? with a y? |
Ahhhhh.....Callie is so NOT a nickname for Carolyn! |
I like Caro. It reminds me of The Yaya Sisterhood book. |
I have a Caroline and a ton of people suggested we call her Callie! I really like it, but I like her given name better ![]() Another one I have heard a lot is Carly, which I like too. |
C, as in "little C" or paired with another initial. |
Callie is a name unto itself. |
I love both Carolyn and Caroline but deliberately ruled them out because I didn't care for any of the nicknames. |
I love Callie, Caddie, and Caro as nicknames for Caroline. |
My name is Caroline. People frequently call me Carolyn, but I don't mind as Carolyn is a beautiful name as well. My family has always called me Carzie (pronounced Care-z). I agree with the person that says see what fits her, but Carolyn is a beautiful choice. |
