Do you wear a quilted jacket?

There is a four page DCUM thread to debate what is simply the fact that different brands and styles of clothing tend to identify people in different socio or economic groups. Are you people idiots or what? We all buy products and brands that are appropriate to our socio economic group, and if you think you don't, you are crazy. My personal favorite are the women who bitch about Lululemon and other more costly brands, and then boast how practical they are wearing Target, REI, and the like. Well I have news for them. They buy Target and REI to boast about it because it conveys something about themselves. They WANT to be viewed a certain wait (usually more evolved and less influenced by brands). You fools, that is the image that Target and REI sell. Everyone is buying into some brand and the image it coveys.

Thank you for sharing. We will take it under consideration... next...

Teacher who previously posted here. My only consideration for clothes is that they are modest and wear like iron for not that high of a price. But thanks for telling me and everyone else here that we're idiots.

no, i don't have one. and i don't dislike them either -- i just don't have one. but i agree with the poster, you denigrate burberry buyers, but brag about how "practical" and "frugal" you are for shopping at target, please...predictable.

When y'all are done here, why don't you solve world peace next. It is equally as complex as this complex topic of quilted jackets and brands/marketing. Bye bye morons....

I wore one in college when I wanted to look grown up. I don't have one now. My light-weight go-to is a leather blazer cut thing which is now somewhat distressed, after 10 years of constant use. What does THAT say about me?

hmmm so quilted jackets are not DCUM, aw shucks! I've always really wanted to fit in here. With all the quilted Burberry jackets that are now being disposed of because of this thread, there should be a mad sale on them at the local Goodwill in a week or two. I'll make note on my calendar to shop the local thrift stores for my next quilted jacket!

I wear a 15 yo Eddie Bauer Suede Car Coat. It's in terrible shape but I love it. I don't care one whit if it's in or out. One great thing about keeping clothing a long time is that eventually it will be in. Just have to wait for it!

Who said anyone was going to get rid of her quilted jacket? Not me! I'll be wearing mine with pride tomorrow (and the next day, and the next...)

Hell I'm going to throw on my Louboutins with my quilted jacket. I might even wander around North Arlington asking random strangers where I can buy a Pandora bracelet. Double Dare Me!!!

No. But I'm saving up for one!

Wore my black, quilted Barbour jacket this morning. Bought it last summer in London. It cost less than 100 pounds, and with our recent mild winter, I have probably worn it, oh, 100 times, 150 times. I love it. One of my best purchases ever.

And to the poster noting that we are all influenced by marketing, socio-economic group, etc .... you're absolutely right. And I'm ok with that.

What I prefer about my Burberry and Barbour is that both are practical. Sure, your trench can handle the rain, but I prefer a coat that I can wear in any weather condition, so the Burberry and Barbour are better in my book. I prefer my coats to be more utilitarian than decorative. Not saying anything is wrong with PP preferring other coats, utilitarian is just my preference.

I was trying to be funny.... dry humor here. Seems like a lot of people are dissing the Burberry --- that's what I was referring to, noone mentioned they were going to get rid of theirs

Hahaha a sense of humor, love it! While you are in Arlington you might as well drive the extra 10 minutes and visit Falls Church,
