Ha ha ha! That is truly annoying. You win the post, in my opinion. However, that person would probably become a heroine/diva in my eyes.

I keep all of the ones i get! I have a photo album that I print out a label for each year and add all of the photo cards we get for Xmas and birth announcements, etc.

Why do you bother? E cards ARE tacky. Nobody wants one. It is not a substitute for a real card.

It is funny that you admit it is tacky and still you don't care. It is like saying "I send Chia Pets and fruitcakes to all my relatives. I don't care if they are tacky or taste awful. If I sent you a "real" gift you might not like it anyway so at least I am not wasting my time."

PP, are you the "I don't need to brush my teeth, I eat crackers!" lady? From the pets thread. Because I'm still laughing from that 2 weeks ago. I know, pretty sad.

LOL! I am not the PP from up above, but I *am* the "I don't need to brush my teeth b/c I eat crackers!" poster from the pets thread! I am glad you liked that one!!

That was my post. I, too, will admit to a sneaky admiration for that sender, mixed in with the resentment.

Anonymous wrote:I enjoy getting Christmas cards. The one that annoys me most comes from one of my husband's old college roommates. Everyone hates that guy's wife, and the letter they include usually has bout 4-5 paragraphs about how WONDERFUL and AMAZING wife's life is and how she basically cured cancer, travelled the world, and instituted world peace. Then it has 1-2 sentences about what her (much more successful) husband has done in the past year.

Gag.

She's probably the one stuck doing all the christmas cards, decorations, everything. Damn right I'd be putting everything about me if I got stuck doing the cards and we did newsletters. My DH is doing absolutely nothing to help with the holiday season and couldn't care less if the holiday just passed without a christmas candle or wreath or card or tree or anything was put out. Now I'm stuck having to do everything. Believe me. I'd be bragging all about my ass if I had to do a newsletter too.

I see this argument on here all the time and it makes absolutely no sense to me. That is like saying Easter, Diwali, and Hanukkah are not religious holidays. I understand that an emphasis can be be placed on presents, decorations, and cookies. However, Christmas is still a religious holiday.

And please do not start with the whole Winter Solstice thing...my own sister sends out Winter Solstice cards this time of year but even she would say that Christmas is a religious holiday!

THE WHITE HOUSE CHRISTMAS CARD! And all the thousands of morons who receive it and think it is frame-worthy. Year after year. How many Open Houses have I seen this at?

I way prefer photo cards over regular cards with just a signature. I like seeing photos of my friends kids, etc.

HATE those pre-printed christmans cards from your insurance company/bank/property manager, etc. Talk about a mass mailing. Those go directly in the trash.

I got a card the other day from a friend who doesn't have kids. Just a flat card with a picture of her and her husband (that's also on FB) that says "Happy Hanukah." No personal note, no anything. Seriously?? What a waste!! Who the hell cares to get these types of cards? I kind of get it if your friends and family aren't on facebook and maybe like to see pictures from your year, especially if you have kids. But I don't really need a picture of you and your husband so you can further -brag? bring up? mention?- that you've now accomplished the greatest thing a woman can- MARRIAGE!!!
