Thats a good point. Where was the dogs collar and ID? Wow this just gets better and better.

OP, waiting....

It is illegal to have a dog that is not licensed and collared wiht the licence tag showing. Pity you did not get an extra fine.

Oh silly pp, I'm sure OP will have some BS comment about how the kids next door stole it and it was not her fault. Can't wait to see what excuse she uses this time.

I don't think $200 is enough to deal with this crazy bitch. I feel so sorry for people who have to interact with the general public. What a lunatic. Can you imagine how unhinged she is wiht her children? She probably has bigger meltdowns and screaming fits than the kids themselves.

All that pops up in my head right now is "No... wire... hangers. What's wire hangers doing in this closet when I told you: no wire hangers EVER?"

Why are some of you silly bitches insisting that OP had time to get her dog. She said the shelter would have been closed by the time she got there!! Dumbasses!!!

Actually dumb ass, she said she was so pissed that she had wasted time and could not get there before she could calm down. Had she been NICE I'm sure the shelter would have let her in.

Sure OP let us know the shelter so I can call and apologize on your behalf to those people who had/ have to deal with you.

Why the hell are all these antagonistic cat posters on here? Just saying.

OP, get evidence against your neighbor. Seriously. They won't f*ck with you again.

You have every right to leave your dog in a fenced area ON YOUR OWN PROPERTY, which you did. The neighbors HAD NO RIGHT to touch your gate, your dog, or anything else. Even if they THINK they own the neighborhood. Which they do not.

Op, I think I m the only one who agrees with you, but $200 for what? 1 - 2 day? This is almost an extortion - preying on the love/ grievance of pet owners. I would not pay.

Maybe you and Op can start the "I'm a shitty person" club. I would pay to throw eggs at you.

You can speculate that the dog was let out of the yard on purpose, but this may or may not be so.

The shelter is completely within its rights to treat this as an at-large situation, and to charge you. They have provided you with a SERVICE, after all.

If I were you, I'd be racing there with money in hand, anxious to see my dog again and relieved to get her back. I cannot understand your reaction AT ALL.

Your inability to understand does not make my irritation and frustration less valid.

I think the "at-large" citation is complete BS and a way for them to get some money out of me. If they called it a fee for homing him, sure, but "at-large"? AND they didn't find him outdoors. Someone brought him in....so that makes their citation even more slimy and money-grubbing.

This fine is how they deter people from being careless with their dogs. Bet you aren't going to let this happen again.

WHY AREN'T YOU HAVING A SHELTER FOR THE POORS. IT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR A SCRUFFING POORS DOG.

OP here. So this is how they make their money....bleeding grieving owners of stolen/lost pets dry? That's just not right.

Get the hell off your cheap ass horse and pay it. They

I'm not being cheap, but I think it's absurd that they're charging me the same amount as a pet adoption. What about the pet owners that don't have $200 to spare within the limited timeframe they give you to recover? Is it honestly fair that they would rather kill your dog? I find nothing "wonderful" about an agency that values money over the wellbeing of animals.

Grieving owner and y I you screaming about paying to get your dog home? You aren't grieving or you wouldn't even give cursory consideration about letting your "beloved" dog stay a moment longer than necessary.

Grieving excludes also being angry?...Interesting. As I said before, I know my dog is safe...that alleviates a lot of anxiety and I choose to pick him up calmly vs. screaming like a banshee.

Wow! What a surprise as from all your posts, I cannot imagine that you are not always screaming like a wild banshee. As another PP suggested, please post all the other things that you hate. Do you wake up every morning and decide what you will hate on that day?

JUST TO BE FAIR TO EVERYONE, you should conduct a hatred lottery. Some people and thing will be left out, but on balance it is fair.
