If pull-ups are dry in the morning, do you reuse that night?

There are two types of people, super hygienic types or laid back, who gives a crap, types. My DH thinks its nasty to use a dry pull up again, he also takes a shower in the morning and after work, and changes his underwear after both, he also demands fresh clothes twice a day. I can go a day without a shower, and have been know to *gasp* keep the same underwear on all day and then sleep in them! I reuse pull ups when they are dry.

Naw, the snark in real life is just said TO others ABOUT you. Here it feels like it is said TO you.

This is so true!! I am the laid back sort as well. It is much more environmentally conscious to be laid back. Plus it saves money (water bill, etc.)

I have reused dry diapers after a nap for the night. My kids don't get new jammies every night by default. I think my kids get a bath most days (with the nanny) but I don't care if they don't. I don't need or want my kids squeaky clean all the time - it takes some of the fun out of childhood! That said, they are not filthy urchins either - balance, moderation, a little dirt is healthy.

No, that is gross.

I like how being cheap and lazy = eco friendly.

Our DD is almost 3yo and her night time pull ups have been dry for 2 months now. But girls are more prone to urinary tract infections and as a matter of course, she wears new pull ups every night and new underwear every morning. It's hard to keep track and it's simpler to change every day. Beside, we will stop using the pull ups after this month.

I can picture this in my mind..... "Honey, WHERE is my clean underwear? I DEMAND IT! Oh, and fetch me my slippers, robe, and pipe while you're at it!

I think I would re-use them one time, who knows where it would end if you didn't set a limit. Little Johnny could be wearing that cursed pull up until middle school.

Oh, right.

Wait a minute. It's alright for a kid to wear underwear for 14 hours straight, outside sweating, etc. But he can't spend 20 hours over 2 nights in a pullup, with a freshly cleaned butt and doing nothing?

Once your kids are potty trained, how often do they change their underwear? If once a day, then they are spending 24 hours in the same underwear, which is the same as spending 20 hours in the same dry pullup.

I am the "use underwear underneath" poster. The way this works is, IF the kid has an accident at night, the underwear is wet, the pull up is wet - but the BED is not wet. Which is key to me. I don't want to be changing sheets in the middle of the night or buying a new mattress.

So we do panties then pullup. If she has an accident, I have to wash a wet pair of panties, that's all. Oh and the child.

It works for us.

So, let's I take a shower at night and put on clean underwear. If I change my underwear in the morning for work, I should then put back on the old underwear the next night? That's gross! DS doesn't even wear the same pajamas every night. I'm certainly not going to put the same pull-ups on him.

OP, we not only reuse dry pull-ups, but also reuse dry diapers.

The parents who give their children new jammies every night--do you also wear new pajamas every night?

We give our kids new pjs every night b/c they are both still in diapers and pull-ups (I have reused diapers and pull-ups on occasion but don't make it a daily practice) b/c sometimes those things leak and pjs get wet with urine.

And I don't wear pjs to bed...

But wouldn't you know if the diaper/pull-up leaks and the pajamas are wet/dirty? Of course, change them when theat happens, but at least my kids aren't doing anything at night that routinely gets their pajamas that dirty.

My older child is potty trained and the toddler never has a dry diaper, so that's not an issue for us, but we routinely wear pajamas for 3 days or so (although the toddler often gets his dirty before then, and then of course gets a new pair).
