If pull-ups are dry in the morning, do you reuse that night?

Anonymous
My kids rarely had dry pullups over night. Then at three both twins were like "We want to sleep in underwear." We switched - one sleeps in a T-shirt and no underwear and the other is just underwear. Most nights no one has an accident. I feel good for the planet and my pocket book!
I have reused a dry pullups and diapers on occaision - like before and after swiming.

Pull-ups hold in moisture in a way that cotton underwear does not. So no, I would not reuse. i would be concerned about encouraging the growth of bacteria and yeast. This is the same reason that I don't let my kids sit around in their bathing suits - they just don't breathe.

FWIW, I use cloth diapers during the day, so I am not oblivious to the landfill problem.

Cloth/reusable trainers are a good option that helps avoid this dilemma.

No - I would not reuse.

Would you reuse "dry" underpants?

Nasty.

Hmmm....I'm doing clean p.js every day, but a pp just got me thinking WHY? I don't do clean p.js everyday for myself....(every other day).

Does anyone else re-use p.js?

So, let's I take a shower at night and put on clean underwear. If I change my underwear in the morning for work, I should then put back on the old underwear the next night? That's gross! DS doesn't even wear the same pajamas every night. I'm certainly not going to put the same pull-ups on him.

Wow. That is crazy wasteful. Use up extra water and energy; use up landfill space. Why? Where is your limit? Are you going to start making your kids change their underwear every 6 hours? 4 hours?

Why are people so neurotic about everything?

Um because dirty underwear and nightclothes smell bad? Bet you don't change the sheets very often either. ugh.

I let my son re-wear PJs if he's not too sweaty the night before for a second night. I don't redo diapers. I don't redo PJs if he was sweaty or got them grimy.

My kids reuse diapers and sit around in bathing suits and wear their pyjamas for days and we have never had any issues with bacteria or yeast growth. They don't get rashes or sores or infections. i have never thougth twice about any of that and will keep doing what I am doing but I am curious as to what types of issues your kids have had with bacteria and yeast from non breathing fabrics?

clean pjs or nude, shower before bed, change sheets often. Trust, your day old pjs smell.

Attention people who smell so bad you can't re-wear your PJs: Seek help. This is not normal.

DS gets new PJs every night, but he's only 6 months old and he still sometimes spits up on his PJs in the morning. i wouldn't put them back on him again.

I don't get new PJs every day, and I look forward to when he doesn't either. will mean less laundry for me. especially considering his daycare changes his clothes every day, so it's 2 outfits every day!!

Do you know how much the average person sweats in their sleep? One to two cups. Not to mention the skin you shed. Your ned is probably crawling with mites.

The parents who give their children new jammies every night--do you also wear new pajamas every night?

We give our kids new pjs every night b/c they are both still in diapers and pull-ups (I have reused diapers and pull-ups on occasion but don't make it a daily practice) b/c sometimes those things leak and pjs get wet with urine.

And I don't wear pjs to bed...
