What's up at Our Lady of Mercy in Potomac, MD???

Yeap. rumor is that Fr. John fire her. He wanted more changes at the school but refused.
Also many people complained to Fr. John that the principal was doing what the clique from congressional wanted.

I heard that Fr. John will be "relocated" to another parish due to negative feedback from OLOM parishioners and many school families.

So it is clear from the last few posts that OLOM is extremely dysfunctional...my suspicion about the "Congressional families" was right. They run the school and parish because they have the $$. No diversity whatsoever.

I am confused. I thought that the principal was the one leaving because Fr. John , now you are saying that he's is leaving too?
The school will be under new management altogether then. Maybe it will get better!

The school is near my home. Minority mom of minority son here. Visited twice. Received a cursory reception and ignored by staff mostly. Toured with former neighbor whose kids go there who I happened to run into. It was very very girl heavy. Very very few African American children beyond first grade. Just my observation.

Try touring St. Raphael's if you already haven't. This school is much more diverse both socioeconomically and ethnically. They seem to maintain the boys through middle school better than Mercy.

Not sure what pp was implying. But, yes, that area is not so racially diverse unless you are Asian.

Heard some big donors are leaving. Also a few teachers have resigned shortly after Ms. Hosmer's departure. Probably not a good time to consider Mercy for your children.

Well, the pastor has been fired. The children and teachers will be happier and morale will improve. Mercy will be fine.
