was this a joke? |
Do you people not understand sarcasm? Compared to a low tier SEC school where kids can have C’s and no AP, UGA is pretty much like HYP to them. Everything is relative. |
| UGA needs at least 10 AP’s, A’s, and at most 2 B’s. 1300+. That’s not Bama or South Carolina, sweetie. |
Good thing you didn’t go to UVA or UNC. |
Uh oh. What do they do at UVA? Same thing, or worse? My kid will likely apply there. I expect he would be repulsed by the dressing up for football games too. |
Repulsed? Seems a little extreme. Did you let him wear pajamas to school for years so now he thinks polo shirts are repulsive? |

| My UGA visit helped me get over my Northeast SLAC snobbery. I was impressed. |
| OU sure spanked them at cws. |

Football games are supposed to be casual affairs. There is a time and place to get dressed up, but football games are not included. Getting dressed up at a football game strikes me as an attempt to signal that one is of a higher social status than the typical football fan. "Hey, look at me, I'm in a sorority or fraternity, and I'm showing off my status by wearing fancy clothes." |
| Just the frat and sorority douches dress up. |
What about frat and sorority people at places like Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Cal, Boston College, Syracuse, etc.? Do they dress up too? I get the impression it is mainly a southern greek thing to do. |
