Aparna Raj

I guess she didn’t want to hold her rally on the Columbia Heights Plaza amongst all the passed out addicts and drug dealers. Hard to sell her brand when reality gets in the way. Out of sight, out of mind! Anyone who says otherwise is a liar!

Take away the staffers and the people who just happened to be there and you’re left with minuscule number.

Does Aparna support areas to use drugs like her hero Janeese?

You people are such delusional conspiracy theorists. No wonder all you can do is whine about election results instead of actually going out and convincing your neighbors of your positions.

Another taste, folks, of what Aparna’s constituent relations team would be like. Very professional indeed!

Nadeau endorsed Janeese so I guess that means she’s endorsed Aparna too.

As well as endorsing Miguel as a #2 choice. Vote Terry to end the open air drug markets!

I guess Brianne didn’t want to endorse a privileged gentrifier from one of the wealthiest suburbs in the country.

Oh wait….

Classic anti-Asian discrimination, only they (like whites) can be gentrifiers but Rashida and Miguel who both moved to DC with fancy professional jobs and masters degrees get a pass because they're Black and Latino.

Don't forget DC's favorite gentrifier with an advanced degree of all time, Marion Barry.

Outsiders with advanced degrees are okay as long as they're not white or Asian.

people, the only person who has a bit of control over public safety or policing is the mayor, not the CMs

CMs write the laws. Do you know how government works?

The problem is not the plan—it’s the execution. The Justice Policy Institute documented (PDF) stalled implementation, limited expansion of violence interruption, a lack of publicly available outcomes data, and the absence of a senior official accountable for execution. The plan diagnoses the problem: DC “has the needed talent, ability, and resources to drastically reduce gun violence in the city. However, it is lacking the political commitment, coordination, and a coherent strategy” to do so.

(hint: that is 95% the mayor)

That's one opinion. A counter example might be D.C. Council passing laws that allow individuals under 25 years old to be treated as juveniles. Violence interruption is UBI for felons. There are no measurable outcomes for that program and yet you complain about lack of outcome data.
