Is Aparna going to clean up the Columbia Heights Plaza? On any given day there are a dozen men passed out there. There is open drug dealing and use, both in front of DCUSA and Giant. A decade ago there were families using the space around the fountain, not anymore. Nadeau has enabled bad behavior. Will Aparna be any different? Who will make Ward 1 neighborhoods livable and safe?

Here a tidbit most clueless council folks do t get. Almost all of the affordable units are built by private developers as part of larger developments. Or in partnerships. The affordable focused non profit developers are turning their backs on DC because it’s not financially viable to build units if tenants can basically stop paying rent for years on end. I know this for a fact and just had a conversation with one of those developers about this.
So essentially Janeese wants to build public housing even though HUD isn’t funding new construction or even providing local funding to maintain what they have. So who will pay for this? Local taxes.

Rashida is best buddies with Nadeau and Janeese. Same policies and beliefs.

Miguel and Aparna both support Janeese as well, arguing for her endorsement at the Ward One Democrats meeting. Janeese and Aparna have even campaigned together at their socialist rallies.

Terry Lynch is the only candidate at these forums talking about tackling the open air drug markets, and knows how to get things done in this city. That's why I'm ranking him #1.

The corner by the Giant has become pretty bad lately. I don't know if it was last week or two Sundays ago, but there were six dudes all slumped over in a variety of crazy positions. Clearly on or sleeping off something. That was wild.

Ironically all of the door knocking seems to have a negative effect on the Aparna Raj campaign. Before people had no idea who she was but now they’ve visited the website bereft of solutions and filled with empty promises.
