Raj knocked on my door this weekend and I asked how she was going to accomplish her goals without destroying the tax base and what followed was the most inconsequential and straight up stupid word salad I’ve ever encountered.

If she’s an econ major from Vanderbilt it’s clear she didn’t retain anything she ever read. Her response to my question regarding rent control was laughable.

If you thought Nadeau was bad strap in it’s about to get much worse.

So who's the DCUM pick for this race?? I like that Terry Lynch is a longtime resident focused on QOL issues like cracking down on know drug houses with out of state paper plates always parked outside. Was considering Miguel as a sane option but ever since he cross-endorsed with Brianne's handpicked successor (Rashida Brown) I have been looking at him more suspiciously...

Rashida would be Nadeau 2.0. As an ANC member, she has ignored her constituents concerns about drugs, crime and safety. She denies that issues exist at all, or simply blames COVID. Her platform brags about fighting the “NIMBY’s,” who are in reality working families who can’t afford to just pick up and move to a safer neighborhood.

Aparna would be equally awful if not more so.

Miguel is SOFT ON CRIME just like Rashida and Nadeau! He thinks that these rowdy teens should be able to keep doing their takeovers of Navy Yard and other of our public spaces in the city. I'm ranking Jackie and Terry because they REMEMBER THE 90s and what Euclid Street used to be like back then! Meridian Hill Park was a no-go zone after dark!

What exactly do you mean by "plant" here? Are you trying to imply that she's somehow being manipulated, or is hiding her affiliation with the DSA? Because the first seems racist and the second is just false, she's pretty openly running as a democratic socialist.

Also, do you really think that her being a food blogger is her day job (in which case, you're clearly incapable of the slightest bit of research), or do you just hate young people with hobbies?

I’m not sure Miguel is better. I’m voting for Rasheeda since she seems less a socialists than the others.
I feel this way about Janeese LG. She wants to build like 50k units of affordable housing while talking shit about private developers. Good luck.
It took bowser almost 8 years to meet her goal of 36k units with 12k affordable.
Here a tidbit most clueless council folks do t get. Almost all of the affordable units are built by private developers as part of larger developments. Or in partnerships. The affordable focused non profit developers are turning their backs on DC because it’s not financially viable to build units if tenants can basically stop paying rent for years on end. I know this for a fact and just had a conversation with one of those developers about this.
So essentially Janeese wants to build public housing even though HUD isn’t funding new construction or even providing local funding to maintain what they have. So who will pay for this? Local taxes.
