Water-drinking culture is out of control

They’ve become blankies for adults. It’s embarrassing.

LOL. I never really thought about people carry around those gigantic Yeti bottles, but I used to work with several guys who were really into working out and they would easily drink a gallon of water in an 8 hour shift. It just seems like it's way too much water and can't imagine that it's actually healthy.

Isn't it a better addiction then soda, liquor, tobacco, coffee, weed, etc.

People don't want to pee all the time so thats a natural moderator of their water consumption.

I bring a water bottle to work. I don't trust the drinking water at my federal office building.

I started drinking a lot of water when I was pregnant and breastfeeding and just kind of kept up with it. Though my go to water bottle one I got from some insurance fair at work once. I'll also drink water both during and after Spin and Yoga.

I had weight loss surgery 9 years ago. Now its almost impossible to get enough water in with a meal. I have to sip on water throughout the day to stay hydrated. I use an Owala, its probably still not officially enough water but its all I can do to finish it by evening time.

I can remember in the 80s having high school sports practice in the hot sun after school. Nobody had a water bottle. Coach would bring a cooler filled with water and at break we’d lift it and take turns drinking from the spout. You’d get about five seconds to drink when it was your turn. And most of us had barely drunk all day, maybe a milk at lunch and a few gulps at a water fountain during school. Were we measurably less healthy or more dehydrated? We all felt fine.

It seems overdone with the water bottles now. I agree. They are everywhere and people leave them, kick them over, and knock them down. Are people cleaning them thoroughly? And, they are constantly buying new ones and getting them as gifts.

At this point, all these new “reusable” bottles end up in thrift stores, landfills etc and all the water drinkers get new Yetis, Stanleys, etc regularly.

Every business meeting I attend at least half of the room has their massive emotional security water jug and I can’t help but think they all look like toddlers drinking from a sippy cup.

What happened to filling a cup with water, drinking it, and moving on with your life? When did everyone get so thirsty?

The movement has gone too far.

Reminds me of Linus from Charlie Brown. He went everywhere with his security blanket. Hopefully you can play this video from SNL. “Big Dumb Cup”

A sink and regular cups would solve this

It always amuses me when I'm in a meeting and grown people are constantly sipping from the nozzles of their adult sippy cups. I can promise you - you will NEVER see the CEO or a top industry Palmer Lucky wont do it. You dont see them on the senate floor or in any board meeting.

Do you carry it to every meeting? Every where you go?
