It's not just young people. Every public council meeting across the country has fat slob Gen X and boomer public officials sipping from these water bottle straws all meeting like trained seals. They are clearly not health nuts.

And every work meeting on Zoom has these dopes constantly sipping from the straws on screen.

Im doing my part for the resistance. I have two cups of coffee in the morning, a glass of water after lunch and one with dinner. The only time I use a water bottle is when I am exercising, which is not that frequent these days.

A couple times a day in my office, every day, someone knocks over their metal water bottle, causing it to go clanging to the floor, scaring the pants off everyone in earshot.

Totally aside from how dumb people look wrapping their lips around those gross, rubbery straws, and slurping like toddlers with a sippy, I would like to ban metal water bottles for the disruption alone.

At some point women were being told to drink at least 8 cups of water a day. I think it took hold because it was touted so hard and easy to implement. Ofc you will be in the bathroom all the time. Years later this was walked back but not too many seem to have noticed.

Every kid activity requires a water bottle. It’s definitely out of hand. There’s a happy medium between 70s style “oh your thirsty? Drink your own saliva” and drinking so much water that you have to plan your day around the bathroom. We’re an active family and take our water bottles whenever it makes sense but I do think it’s gotten out of hand.

Every yuppy is on a cocktail of allergy meds, SSRIs and Adderall, so they have chronic mouth dryness.

Well, I'm not sitting in meetings laughing at people drinking water, so I feel pretty confident that I am much smarter than you. I have much more important things to worry about.

I believe it's a neurological tic nitwits have had programmed into their thick skulls by doom scrolling on social media and YouTube. Dovetails on all of these low watts believing they have a debilitating anxiety disorder and the sipping helps comfort them.
