It was on metro and funding was allocated to improve the Potomac Yard stop. What's Alexandria currently doing with PY? Looking for some mixed-use housing developments and some more grocery stores? |
You were going to have airplane noise during concerts. No thanks. The whole thing was a fake ploy anyways to get DC to step up more in negotiations. I lived in DC and still didn't want it in VA due to traffic! And now I am in VA and very glad it did not go in due to traffic! What a horrible location. |
Both Alexandria and the state of VA were on the hook to subsidize the arena. It was a terrible financial deal for VA taxpayers. |
+1. and I am not a fan of hers but this was the right call. |
| Most local Democrats in NoVa would be very happy to see Lucas indicted and imprisoned. She’d authorize crack sales in downtown Fairfax if it would generate a penny of revenue for Hampton Roads. |
She will end up just adding to the pile of embarrassment that is the current DOJ and Trump administration. |
What's that area doing for the local economy right now? |
Yes, the location was absolutely awful, but anyone could see it wasn't a serious proposal. They literally didn't even consult WMATA before floating it. I honestly cannot believe anyone is still bringing this long dead nonsense up. It was never real. |
It was not in the middle of the region and would have made game attendance for fans from Maryland on a weeknight virtually impossible. |
This. She does my party no good. |

Of course the reality is Patel has wrecked the FBI to a degree that even if this was a legitimate raid, who's going to believe it? They're going after reporters who investigated him and social media posts about seashells.
The gutting of the FBI and DoJ kills any legitimate investigations too. |
You are a moron. Youngkin got played a fool by a brilliant businessman (Josh Harris) who never had any intention whatsoever to locate the Arena in Alexandria. It was all a ruse to force Bowser et al to give him what he wanted. The ex mayor of Alexandria was, literally, humiliated by this and chose not to run again because he fell for it hook line and sinker. He basically stepped down in disgrace. |
Anyone who's driven down US1 in even mild traffic knew it was a non starter. I honestly don't know how literally anyone fell for that nonsense. |
Well, yeah. That part too |
It's 10 extra minutes on Metro at most. |
