Yes! Just look at Trump, Weiner, Epstein, and Cuomo. Such friendly, trustworthy, consistently nice folks from New York. |
You must love Trump. |
| Utah. On two separate occasions, teenagers approached me -- a black man -- on the trolley from the Salt Lake City airport and offered to help with my luggage. Now that I think about, TSA at SLC was unbelievably pleasant. |

| Iowa—our son lives there and every visit we encounter lovely people. |
| Texas. Arkansas. New York City, but nowhere else in NY state. Parts of Ohio and western PA. |
So true. SLC airport is a breath of fresh air. Maybe Utah gets claustrophobic if you’re there long-term, but it’s delightful in small doses. |
This is fantastic. I can't tell if it's sarcasm or not. I only run across this expression on DCUM. |
So you’re basing your assumptions on a handful of wealthy, white, male politicians that you’ve never met in person? |
|
Nebraska for sure
Followed by Iowa |
All the open space and mountains helps Utah not to feel as claustrophobic as it could be. If it didn’t have mountains, it would not be appealing. I have lived in ny, sf, dc, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Tokyo, hk, and London. SLC airport is the best home airport I’ve ever had. The parking is cheap, the flights are rarely canceled, it ranks at the very top for on time flights, it’s a delta hub, and it’s so so so clean. When I lived in ny, no matter where my final destination was, the absolute worst part of traveling was getting to and from ewr/jfk/lga. They were all terrible. Are the people in Utah nice? Sure, but I also found people to be nice everywhere else I have lived, just in different ways. |
You've met them? This forum is filled with opinions about the residents of entire states that posters have never visited and about people, including politicians, they've never met. |
Thanks Kristi! |
There is actually difference. I am a Nebraskan who spends not insignificant time in eastern Iowa. Iowans as a cohort are more resentful in that “been left behind” way. See also, WV. Most of Nebraska has that Western openness thing going on, like someone described Texas upthread |
